the combine should belong to Clayton, who just looks like a NFL running back. He has the size -- 5-foot-10 and 220 pounds. He has the speed -- he's listed on the Web site at 4.52, but he's been training and it wouldn't be surprising if he ran in the 4.4 range. And he has the charisma -- everyone likes Clayton, the rare college athlete with a pair of perfect nicknames in "Hollywood" and "T-Gunn."
Production will probably make him a second-day selection -- nfldraftscout.com projects him as a seventh-round pick -- but the NFL loves giving second chances. And the league also falls in love with workout wonders, and the ripped Clayton will likely put on a show in Indianapolis.

good for him. :jerkoff:
edit: the :jerkoff: emoticon was intended for clayton.

My bad Saul, wasn't thinking...
-
Too bad he was too much for Prince to handle.
-
You know how Prince was complaining about like 3/4ths of the team being on academic warning? Then think back to how Clayton suddenly disappeared from the football team, claiming "injury" without actually having one?
I'm thinking Clayton was one of those "academic casualties."
Prince: "Get your grades up or you won't play anymore"
Clayton: "Coach, it's my senior year. &@#% grades, I'm going to the league."
-
Didn't Josh Scobey do quite well at the combine?
-
As long as I put forth my best effort, I don't see how I can't succeed, and go in the second or third round

He may do well with a good offensive line. I don't see him breaking many tackles though.
-
I just looked it up. Josh Scobey ran the fastest time among running backs at his combine, a 4.38. He also had the fastest shuttle in his group with a 3.93.
He went in the 6th round.
I hope for the best for Clayton. But a first day pick? He would be beating some serious odds.
-
Would be funny if he went higher than cornish.

He wasn't an academic casuality at least not before the bowl game. If he was eligible to play at the start of the season then he would have been eligible for the entire first semester and his disapearance happened around mid season or so. Your eligiblity is based upon what you did in the previous semesters not the current one.

Do you guys have anyone else projected to go in the draft? Like on the first day?

Nope. How many of your Solich recruits are going 1st day?
-
I heard if Echols has a good combine he could sneak in to day one. Diles might get drafted on day 1 he will proably go 3rd or 4th round.

ESPN said Diles didn't even get invited to the combine. Too bad for Zac, I like him and hope he gets in somewhere good.
-
Per ESPN Insider Kiper Jr. has Diles as the 4th best MLB.
Inside Linebackers
1. Patrick Willis, Mississippi
2. Buster Davis, Florida State
3. David Harris, Michigan
4. Zach Diles, Kansas State
5. *Rory Johnson, Mississippi
5a. Zak DeOssie, Brown

Carriker is an almost certain first rounder. Moore and Bradley are probably 2nd rounders. Then Brandon Jackson is likely a 2nd or 3rd rounder. Zach Taylor might get picked up late as a backup QB with experience running the WCO. We don't have a ton of guys graduating, so we're actually doing pretty well.
-
if clayton gets drafted...then they didnt watch out game films. he cant break a tackle to save his life, and any time he tries to juke someone he'll just slip and take himself out. if he goes to a team they will be disappointed

You lost quite a few key players. Don't kid yourself.

LOL. Who? We lose Taylor and Jackson on offense, but Keller is an upgrade over Taylor, and Lucky has even more talent than Jackson. Plus we have Wilson and Glenn. So three of the top four backs are back.
On defense, we lost all four starters on the D-Line, but have even more talented guys behind them who are ready to go. We lose Bradley at LB. But the rest of the defense is back, and with the return of Bowman and the influx of talent virtually everywhere, both the offense and defense will be better next year.
But I thought this thread was about the draft?

The rest, like half?

You lose Taylor, Big XII offensive player of the year, and bring in an unproven QB. We don't know if Marlon Lucky will even be back to health by then so that is a non-issue right now. You lose your entire D-Line, your strongest aspect of your team. An All American D-End in Carriker. And you think your "talent" will make you better at D-Line than before? You are kidding yourself, you can have all of the talent in the world but nothing can make up for that experience. You lose a LB, another key player to your defense. You return and atrocious secondary, congratulations. So basically you lose your best part of your offense (Taylor) and your best part of your defense (your D-Line) and you are supposed to be better than you were last year? Not a chance in hell.

It really annoys me when NU fans say Keller is an improvement. He may be an improvement in physical skills, but that is all anyone can possibly know at this point. He has what....7 college starts? And I'm not even going to get into the ASU situation b/c I know the spin brigade will begin. My favorite was when some of your fans were claiming that the players who wanted Carpenter as QB were his fellow classmates. Do a quick google search...it was the senior leadership counsel.

Yeah. That's almost like calling Zac Taylor on the phone and saying, "You were all-big 12 and all, but you're just another cog in the wheel, buddy. We're already forgetting about you." In summary, what awesome fans. And can this guy be serious? Carriker alone is a HUGE loss.
-
Who knows if Lucky will live to see next football season?

If there were more talented guys behind the starters, why didn't they start LY? Slashan is that loyal of a guy?

Spin away little Wildcats.
Taylor was a good QB for us, but not a great talent. Keller is bigger, stronger, more mobile, has a far better arm, and can just do more things on offense than Taylor.
Jackson was a good RB, one of the best in the Big 12. But Lucky is a 5 star recruit, one of the most talented backs in the nation, who's going to be a junior and is due for a breakout year.
On defense the line will be young, but you heard me right...more talented than the guys that graduated. We lose Bradley, but the LBs overall will be better, faster, and more talented, particularly if Octavien can avoid injury. The secondary will be head and shoulders better, with Bowman back, the youngsters ready to go, and some serious talent brought in.
Continue to spin though little Wildcats. We'll just continue to win.
Husker Power!

13-12 in big 12 play.

Is your name Bob Stoops?

We aren't the ones spinning losing half of our defense and calling it good. We aren't the ones saying that losing the Big XII OPOY is good because we get a stud in a guy that has a fishy background and only seven starts. But yes, we will keep on spinning.

Thomas Clayton . . . yup, that was the original subject of this thread.

Nebraska
Want to get in on the blue-chip stock early? Start thinking about Nebraska as a possible sleeper in the national title race. With former Arizona State quarterback Sam Keller taking over for Zac Taylor, in what might actually be an upgrade at the position, and with all the key weapons returning, the Husker offense has the potential to be unstoppable. A mid-September home date with USC will make-or-break the BCS Championship dreams, while road trips to Missouri and Texas will show just how good the team really is.
http://cfn.scout.com/2/620752.html (http://cfn.scout.com/2/620752.html)
So there you have it. A national publication that agrees that Keller may be an upgrade at the position.
Here's a challenge. Find any national publication that mentions K-State as a possible national championship contender.
-
You should note that article says "dreams." As in, not reality. You guys will not win a national championship with Bill Callahan. Not next year, not ever.
