one of you cincy guys linked a debunking of the claims that Huggins graduated no one when he was at Cincy. If you still have a link, could you provide it please. TIA.

ooo, that is a nice list -- but there was some sort of article that explained how the perception started and why it wasn't true.
-
Huggins has talked about it so many times. Just look at the jobs some of his players that didnt graduate like he said. IE: Kenyon
-
That list should be updated. That is like 5 years old and doesnt have Kirkland, Moore, Levitt and others.
-
Yeah, it needs update...Feel free to do so. I love the story of Lev telling Huggins he will graduate before Jenna and he did. He graduated in the morning and she graduated in the afternoon.

Sports writers are like Pro Wrestling promoters, they know that they need to create some ‘good’ guys (Krzyzewski), and they know they need to create some ‘bad’ guys (Huggins). This approach sells their crappy newspapers and feeds their families. So they make up ‘facts’ and stories to facilitate these images, and after a while these stories seem to become the actual truth. You know, like Art Long punched out a horse story. It never happened. But sports writers continue to report on that story to this day.
Huggins had a lot of JUCO kids play, and he had a lot of kids go pro early and they did not graduate, and early in his tenure at Cincinnati since these players did not qualify as graduating – at least according to the NCAA rules governing graduation rates – led to a zero graduation rate for a couple years. A lot of kids did graduate, they just didn’t count according to the NCAA. Anyway, all the sports writers saw a story and they perpetuated the zero graduation rate myth long, long, long after that graduation rate had changed to a rate better than most Div I schools. I’ll bet before Huggins came to K-State, and all of you became aware of what Huggins graduation rate and the perceptions of him really were, that you were also in the camp of viewing him with negativity. Without any other sources of information we all tend to believe what we read and what we hear despite the fact that these ‘facts’ are rarely facts. So here is a fact for you: Huggins is not such a bad guy, and Krzyzewski isn’t such a good guy. These are just erroneous perceptions created by people trying to feed their families.

yes, when Huggins was hired, my first thought was "oh no, that's the horrible guy who never graduates his players" and i lumped him in with Jerry Tarkanian on the sleaz-o-meter--but maybe Tark wasn't that bad in real life either.
