Look at those empty seats.
-
You could barely call those seats. You were jammed in there like sardines and if the students were really into the game, your view got blocked often.
Plus, if the situation was the same back when that picture was taken which was when KSU had the synthetic floor like a bunch of schools went to in the mid 70's, then those seats were for student athletes.
-
Look at that. Everybody is standing up.
-
BTW I'm glad we got out of that craphole.

Seating capacity 5,000 :bs: Looks like that site needs more editing than a just a picture.

Seating capacity is 5000 NOW. The article addresses what the capacity used to be...
Originally seating more than 14,000 when it first opened, changing fire codes throughout the years reduced Ahearn’s seating capacity to 11,700 for the 1987-1988 season – the final year in which K-State basketball games were held in Ahearn.
But for volleyball, tennis, and track the capacity is around 5,000.

look at how close they are to the court. That place had to be amazing. I, for one, wish we would play one non-conference game there a year and wear throwbacks. Is that even possible or have they changed it to much?
-
Yeah, on the student side, the referees literally had to hold their arm out and move the fans back to the bleacher so the opposing player had a place to stand to throw the ball inbounds from that side of the court. You literally stood right behind a guy throwing the ball in along the student side. Now that's good heckling.

It was possible to have 30 or 40 people right in some guys ear along that sideline. It had to be intimidating as hell to have to step over there and inbound the ball if you were an oppossing team player.

Thuggie doesn't belong in this pic, they were mostly decent guys. (http://img387.imageshack.us/img387/5852/catsbbcoachesik3.jpg) (http://imageshack.us)
