Title: OK...Prediction Time!
Post by: BullHawkWheel on February 18, 2007, 06:40:25 PM
I am actually going to be serious in this post.  What is everyone's honest prediction of the score for tomorrow night?

I just hope we play good Defense. Didn't realize last years game in MHK was 51-48 with 10 minutes left.

i think that the hype for this game has actually hurt you guys.  now because of the big monday, vitale, blackout, huggs guaranteeing a win, and with our recent strong play, we will be fired up to play.  that's not good for you guys.  but anything can happen, and i am cautiously optimistic about tomorrow night.

come on piss, whats your actual prediction.  no flaming(for once i am civil, take advantage of it)

"god damn you. huggs didnt guarantee a win."

Huggins was bold enough before the season to predict that K-State would end its 23-game home losing streak to the Jayhawks.

“Remember Feb. 19 as when we break the streak,” Huggins told fans at Midnight Madness. “Then we will have a rivalry.”

Kansas players are well aware of Huggins’ remarks. Rush, for perhaps the first time in his career, said “No comment” when asked about Huggins’ prediction. Point guard Russell Robinson said he was surprised by it.

“I laughed at it,” Robinson said, “but when you think about how badly we beat them here, you know they’re going to come out with their best game. It’s going to be bananas. I expect their fans to be as mean as possible, so we’ve got to take them out of the game early.”

god damn you. huggs didnt guarantee a win.

"One of Huggins' biggest challenges will be to make the Wildcats more competitive against their in-state archrivals, the University of Kansas Jayhawks. Kansas St. has not defeated ku in Manhattan since 1983, when the Wildcats still played in Ahearn Fieldhouse, and the Jayhawks have won 32 of the last 33 meetings in the series entering the 2006-07 season. At Kansas State's "Madness in Manhattan" event, Huggins told the 10,000 fans in attendance that "the streak" would end in February 2007, to tumultous applause."

oh gosh, thats the same thing as a guarantee.  stop trying to spin it.  he said the 19th is when it ends.  he didnt say thats when he thinks it will end, or when he hopes it will end.  he said the streaks GOING to end.  that's a guarantee.

not the same thing. or he would have said guarantee. youre spinning it cause you think youre going to kill us..and you want to have thuggins eat his own crap.

is a coach of his team saying he is going to lose? no. are coaches dumb enough to guarantee wins? no.

try once more.

dude. reading comprehension.  saying to remember a day because that is the day you are going to break the streak is a guarantee.  he is saying, on this day, you guys are going to end the streak.  how is that not a guarantee?  you are spinning it just because he didn't say the exact word guarantee.

Why the hell are you asking these guys for a prediction?  Go back and look at their predictions for the first ku/K-State game.

None of these whiny little pussies picked K-State to get their asses kicked 97-70.

Were there alot predicting a KSU win?  I will admit I thought it would be a close game, with ku pulling it out, obviously, close was not a word that should be associated with that game.

As for tomorrow, I will go ahead and suck down some  :koolaid:, and say KSU 69 ku 62.

As much as I'd like to see a blow out, this won't be one.  Huggie slows it down, mixes it up on D. The Kitties, they be playin' decent ball of late.  They hit their 3's.  Single digit spread:  ku 78, KSU 69.

ku makes it 24 in a row in Manhattan and stays undefeated in our home away from home (Allen Fieldhouse West).  K-State doesn't have the horses yet to beat the best ku team since 2002.   Collins is just too good for K-State's guards.

I don't see you holding us below 70, which is what it will take for a KSU win.  Granted, TT and aTm held us to 69, but that's a far cry from 57.
