Long time coming boys.... Reply
it was just a matter of time until this happened. Our guys have played hard and smart and largely overacheived in conference. Saturday, I think CU might have been the only team we could have beaten with that effort. And that's coming off a ku game that was a disaster. Slump? You bet. Thank goodness ISU is next at home and thank goodness we still have a roadie at CU. What shocks me most is how many of you will have a hard time figuring out how this happened.
Simple... we really don't have the talent to be a top 4 team in this league. If we pull it off, it will be a credit to all of them. I'm just hoping we can re-group, play better and get into the dance. Don't laugh, but there are no freebies. ISU on Saturday is no sure thing. Will anybody take my prediction now of 1-1 in the two games at Lincoln and Boulder?
Is he braggin a bit? Maybe. But he's 100% correct, and like it or not Kietz is more right than wrong when it comes to KSU athletics.
After that posts, the powertards absolutely meltdown. Calling him a traitor etc. Pathetic.
-
He's absolutely right.
-
repeat of what he said on his show.
Good call.
-
Our talent isn't good...people love to hate KK for some reason.
That post is dead on.
So is 'Hox's:
OK, OK. Huggy is 4 points better than Wolly.
Posted: 2/13/07 10:15:49 pm reply to this message If Wooly had 4 more points per game last year, he would have blown away Huggy's record this year. Wooly would be at 9-1 in the conference at this point last year with 4 more points per game. Would have finished 13-3. Basically the same players Huggy has . . .
Just sayin'.
Look at Wooly's conference record last year. (You might be shocked at the point differential in the losses.) Are the Kitties going to honestly say that Wooly couldn't have a 7-4 record right now with basically the same players being a year older? Plus, he wouldn't have Benneck, Colon, and Young screwing things up.
:frown:

You should invite Keitz over here fatty. We're far more reality-based than the powertards.
-
Wow. The replies and new threads started by all the powertards regarding Kietz are unbelievable. Talk about "the emperor has no clothes." And this from the same board that was calling out this board last night. I guess cannibalism is okay.
-

I just did, and hope you all do the same and welcome him. Any kietz basher should be banned permanently.
-
Also, IF YOU DON'T LIKE BADASSCAT JUST IGNORE HIM you morons.
-
4 pts per game (pt diff) is a hell of a lot. he is basically saying huggins is an incredible coach.
-
i dislike keitz. i enjoy the powertards ganging up on him. go tards!

I've been told by an ex NBA'er that that's about all the difference a coach can make over the course of a season.
I adore KK, tho.

amen brother

i know. i don´t know why. his act is annoying. you know who i liked? paradis. that was when radio was good.
-
I don't understand what it is about this loss that makes everyone forget that Wooly was a loser.
-

He's always right. It's scary how much his finger is on the pulse of KSU. Plus, he led the Huggins crusade while tards like yourself worried about Huggs recruiting.
-
Worried about Hugs recruiting?!? WTF? Anyone here who was stupid enough to worry about Hugs recruiting should be banned! (Do we even do that?)

That's what pisses the powertards off so much about him. They're building their pie in the sky fantasies about KSU going to the Elite Eight while he's looking at things realistically. I'm ashamed to say that he was right on Wooly long, long before I ever saw the light.
-
Every thing he says on his show is to better KSU. When we beat ku last year, and he wasn't impressed it's because he still wanted Wooly gone and didn't want a fluke victory to keep him here. That infuriated the tards' and even me a little bit, but he was 100% correct.

i hate you and bslimz for that thread. i just wanted to participate, and now you get to throw it back in my face forever. you´ll probably do the same with ou.

What did Keitz say exactly? It looks like a bunch of nonsense to me. We overacheived (by playing smart and hard) and won, were now in a slump so we've lost. We will continue to lose and not finish in the top four due to the talent level of the guys that have us in fourth currently...the same ones that will play the remainder of the season. Can anyone really make sense of what he is saying? Or is this just a fanciful version of the prediction bullcrap that everyone is so fond of?
-
So you guys are suggesting that Keitz is brilliant because he is smarter than the "powertards?"
-
1)the powertards came unglued today when Kietz predicited we lose either @CU or @NU. Calling him a ku fan etc..
2)No one owns the tards more thank kietz. And he's not even a ku fan.
-

That's more than a bit like being the sharpest kid on the short bus. Keitz calls 'em like he sees 'em.
-
I think he just likes to watch them meltdown.

LOL sure, and if we could just trade one of our bigs for Massey and his 18 PPG we'd be 23-3 (10-1) and tied for first place in the Big XII right now.
-
I would murder someone for Massey to have one more year.
-
If we had moderately effective players at the 1 and 5 spots rather than kids playing out of position and freshmen we'd be dangerous. Bennett and Colon will be far better next year but Huggy's failure to bring in a true PG this year will limit us next time around.
-
That is what happens when a kid commits to you and the mommy blocks it at the last minute. I feel like Nebraska :frown: I wonder if Mrs. Hannah has a job with the Green Party in Mizzou.
-
True. I really like BY but let's face it, we're in dire need of a PG that can really distribute the ball effectively.
-
What sucks is that Blake would probably be a much bigger scoring threat if we didn't have to use him as a pg. Think how this team would be with a healthy BW and Stephon Hannah. Wait, would that be possible?
-
KK could come over hear and teach us many things!
Don't let him fool you...he's all about him. I don't blame him...I get his game...and largely listen to him just to see what the next assinine thing he'll say will be.
Some of the crap he says is just hilarious.
As for his continued "no talent" thing...he's just kickin' the dead horse. The worst players on this team are new guys.
-
KK wouldn't come here because he'll never get the reaction from us he'll get from the 'tards.
As for his continued "no talent" thing...he's just kickin' the dead horse. The worst players on this team are new guys.
I don't think Kent, Afeli, and Yearby are new guys, and I don't think Keitz is saying that only the returning players are lacking talent.
-

good point. the best players on the team are the ones wooly recruited a long time ago. the worst are the ones he recruited right before leaving. the new guys fall in between.
-
KK is generally right because if there is two sides to an issue, he generally picks both of them (somehow). For instance, against ku, he claims he "called it" because he spent Monday and Tuesday questioning Bill Self's coaching ability and crediting Bob Huggins' coaching ability, then spent Wednesday talking about how ku had so much more talent and don't be surprised if the game isn't close. Most on this board thought that this NU game was the game...it was going to pretty much be our season and that there was a distinct possibility that we could lose.
And it's not that hard to be "right" when it comes to KSU basketball over the past decade. Just generally predict "failure" and/or "disappoitment" and you're going to be right.
And as to the question about whether or not Wooly would have the same or better record...what in the hell, over the past 6 years, would indicate that Wooly would? That is the genius of Wooly and his tenure...even after it is over people still think we would have done something with him.
-
But it was talent recruited to play a highly structured offensive game. In terms of the new guys really the only real disappointment has been Blake Young, but he's also playing out of position.
Games like last night scream Hannah and Walker. The miss on Hannah and Walker's injury are profound for this team right now. Those are two guys that can create things anytime they want to, there is nobody on this team that can do what they can. There is nobody on this team that can create matchup problems like they can. Imagine a starting 5 of Hannah, Stewart (playing his natural position), Martin, Hoskins and Walker. All wishful thinking right now.
This year has to be big picture thinking . . . get into the NCAA tourny. It's going to take getting the ISU game, the CU game, and at least 1 from the Oklahoma Schools to make that happen. Get Walker healthy, get Beasley and Dominique Sutton into camp. Then maybe a Tyree Evans (who is buddies with Brandon Rush).
Ya know, the other day Leabo and Keitzman were talking about how Bennett kind of reminded them of Bryant Reeves. Now when Bryant Reeves was a freshman he was a clutz. But he never had a lines like this:
9 Minutes, No Rebounds, 2 Points
11 Minutes, No Rebounds, No Points
6 Minutes, 1 Rebound, No Points
4 Minutes, 0 Rebounds, 0 Points
7 Foot effing 3, 30 minutes of Basketball, 1 Rebound, 2 Points . . . that's been Jason Bennett in 4 of the last 5 games. I say the Texas game is a fluke because inside they're soft.
Tell me, at 7 Foot effing 3, how in F_ck do you manage to pull down exactly 1 REBOUND in 30 minutes of basketball?? Is that possible, you almost have to freaking try to not rebound the ball.
Bryant Reeves had 34 points and 12 Rebounds in his Sophomore year against Arizona State, anybody see any games in Jason Bennet next year like that?? Reeves scored 556 points in his soph season at OSU, nope, don't see that out of Bennett either. Reeves averaged 19.2 ppg as a Soph. Reeves shot 62.5% from the floor as a Soph, he averaged 10 boards a game as Soph. There is no Bryant Reeves upside in Jason Bennett.
If Jason Bennett is around next year, and I hope he isn't and if he halves Bryant Reeves output as a soph. I will for the first time in my life put on a shirt with a Jayhawk on it, and wear it for 3 full hours.

That is a bit too extreme. You may as well shoot yourself first.
