Alright with Young starting the last two games, I was wondering who you think is a better overall player.
-
Maybank.
-
Young, but that not saying anything
-
I'm with fats. Maybank.
If we need a 3 shooter, Clent. If we need someone who's not going to turn it over often and play good defense, Blake.
-
at least young gets a steal once in a while
-
Young. Maybank can't be in there without Young or Stewart.
-
Stewart. Young is like the walking turnover.
-
We need both. If either could take over the position, then "who is better" would be a valid question, but that's not going to happen. However, clearly the minutes show the coaching staff "trusts" Clent more than Blake.
-
After the last 2 games where Young and Maybank have started, I'm thinking we should go back to Stewart and Harris. Other than the ku game, that starting line up was working well for us.
-
Stewart. Young is like the walking turnover.
Doesn't Stewart turn it over like 3x as often per minute played?

(Big 12 only)
Stew has 1 assist every 11.1 minutes (of PT), Young has 1 every 8.2.
Stew has 1 TO every 12.4 minutes, Young 1 every 12.0.
Stew has 1 trey (made) ever 24.8 minutes, Young 1 every 45.0.
Stew has 1 rebound every 9.8 minutes, Young 1 every 10.6.
Stew has 1 steal every 53.8 minutes, Young 1 every 22.5.
Stew has 1 FT attempt every 14.0 minutes, Young 1 every 7.5.
Stew has 1 point every 3.6 minutes, Young 1 every 4.1.
They're actually pretty even. However, Huggs has lauded Clent for his preparation whereas (although not mentioned by name) he singled out Young for not knowing what number Jarious Jackson was. Again, the fact that Stew plays twice as many minutes in Big 12 play shows who the staff "trusts" more, though Young will get his shot when Stew struggles.

Yeah that.

Anthony Bean.

Anthony Bean.
And I will take Askia Jones at the 2 spot.
But seriously, lets hope that things start to click for Young next year. If he can step up his offense next year, that would be huge.

Juco's have tended to make alot of progress in their 2nd year under Huggins. For some players (Patterson, Herb ), Sr season was a breakout year,,as much as I didn't really care for them as Jr's, I really liked them as SR's...

if you want to win the indy 500, which is better, the ford focus or the chevy cavalier?

vs.

get the point?

Stewart definitely sets up the offense better and is more reliable. I think most JuCo's make significant progress between their Jr. and Sr. seasons. We'll see if Young can follow that pattern.
-
Biggest surprise is that Stewart became a solid defender. Not lockdown or anything, but solid and reliable.
