Conclusion: More Maybank. None of them are great "true" pg's, but Maybank is the best scorer and has been to the free throw line a ridiculous amount of times despite 13 minutes per game.

Why did you have to put up the ksufans.com plug right on the faceplant part. Like K-State or ku that was the best part of the reel! What a badass!

I have my reasons. They are excellent.

I'm guessing so the phog can't rip it off and use it for their own enjoyment. It will get no play at phog.net because of the ksufans plug.

He could watermark it with a transparency that would show the action and serve the same purpose.  I'm still calling "dumbass".

Does Blake Young really have 3 turnovers in Big XII play?

Whoops. Mixed up Young and Maybank there.

To be fair, Maybank really hasn't been the primary ballhandler much in B12.

He's not much of a PG.  I'd like to see him take some minutes from Harris when Lance plays like a puss.

He was going something like full speed on the dunk, hung on the rim just long enough to get horizontal but not long enough to stop his momentum, let go and crashed feet-first into the support with his body about head high.

That's correct.  Maybank has played more of the 2 lately and often we have 2 of those guys in together in some combination.

Plus, while I agree that Maybank deserves more minutes if he continues to play like last night, those numbers are a bit off since he put up nearly half of his FTs and FGAs last night.  Its more of a statistical anomoly if a guy goes off for 26 when he's really averaging 3.  However, maybe that was just his coming out and he's going to come on late like Taybron did last year.  I think the combination is still going to be Stew for 25-30, Young for 15-20, and Maybank for 10-15, though those numbers could budge a little.  Frankly, we need Harris to shoot and score if we want to win 10 or 11 games in the league.

Disagree. He played only 83 (10 minutes a game) minutes before last night. He played 33 vs ku. It's not like he was totally sucking before, he just never really got a chance.

jmo of course.

Yes and no.  It may have been he "didn't get a chance", but the reasons his numbers were down weren't just arbitrary or something.  He's a role playing guard on this team.  You can't discount the match-ups being an advantage for Maybank either.  ku had us WAY extended in our offense so he could use his "Rucker-skilz" to take off the dribble and he was able to finish plays at the rim.  Good for him last night, but where has this been when we've had other opportunities to penetrate and finish for our guards?

Don't get me wrong, if he can play like that night in and night out from here on out, then Lance or Young or Stew can sit.  I just don't see it and we need someone who can hit from outside and Lance and Stew are those guys.  I'm not going to get overhyped about what was a great performance in a 27 point loss, I've got to see Maybank stepping up like this in some meaningful games we win before I start thinking he deserves 20-25 minutes of game.  I've been very pleased with what he's brought lately in his 10-15 and I think that will still be his role from here on out for the most part.

Hugs has said they've had to take some of the Rucker out of Maybank's game.  I'm assuming that he means that it's taken some time to get JM to be less of a streetball player and more of a team player.  That sort of thing could really limit a player's time on the floor on Huggins' team.
