Following a dramatic follow dunk by senior Cartier Martin in the second half that caused Missouri coach Mike Anderson to call a quick timeout, Huggins turned and frantically waved his arms to try to stir more of the fans seated in the chairback seats to rise to their feat. When a number remained seated despite the drama of the game, Huggins threw his hands in their direction in disgust.
Yes, Bramlage Coliseum was about as loud as it has been for a basketball game since its early years when K-State fans remembered how to cheer for hoops, but that was still not good enough for Huggins.
There is no compromising for him on the expected level of commitment from his program's fans. The announced attendance of 11,399 meant there were nearly two thousand vacant seats that had been sold as season tickets. That clearly is not good enough.
"There are a few more empty seats we need to fill. There aren't very many, but a few didn't show up. They need to stand up, that other side, once in a while," Huggins said of the chairback seats mostly filled by alumni. "It's good for their joints."
good stuff.

Maybe instead of t-shirts he should start throwing these out to the chairbacks...

Maybe Prince should consider calling out about half of the upperdeck for not attending football games.
As my admiration for Huggins and his blunt honesty increases, my admiration for Prince and his absurd coach speak decreases.

Yeah. Huggs and Prince are pretty much polar opposites. Except for their scheduling, I guess. (And hopefully winning ways :hope:)
-
Prince is still young and impressionable. Coaching at the same school as Huggins just might be the best thing that's ever happened to him.
-
This is just part of not doing things half assed. In addition to kicking ass on the court, Huggins sells tickets, gets people in the seats, and bluntly asks for donations. He is ten times more awesome than I expected him to be.

If Prince tried to pull what Huggins has been saying, he'd be crucified by our fanbase.

LOL Joker.

Agree. This is still a dream.

That's pretty much what I was pointing out and what Phreak mentioned. Those two are polar opposites, both in personality and prior coaching success and that leads to Huggins'ability to say whatever he wants. Although Prince did ask for 20K fans to show up to the spring game without even coaching one game at KSU.

Oh, so you were complaining about Prince being unproven and not his coachspeak?

No. Just sarcastically pointing out (and apparently not very well) that Prince would never say the same things as Huggins, because of his (Prince's) personality and the fact that he probably couldn't get away with it given his track record (or lack thereof).
But, I personally like/appreciate Huggins' candor about his team (e.g. "they'll probably just stand in the lane and watch us miss shots"). I had an appreciation for Prince's coach speak because it was so overwhelmingly coach speak, but after listeining to Huggins, I'm not sure I'll like/appreciate it so much next fall.

The reality is you love however your coach speaks if he wins.
If Prince wins and gets us to a couple Big 12 title games, we'll love bold and daring and cliches. If Huggs wins and gets us to a couple Elite 8s and a Final 4, we'll love his dry humor and honesty.
If either doesn't work out, Weiser should've never taken the risk and they weren't "good fits" for Kansas State.
Its not a tough formula.

I never liked Snyder-speak and he won.

Agreed. Snyder outtake: "&@#% you guys, I hate the media. I'm gonna make this interview and press conference as long and painful as humanly possible."
I still love him though.

It's because he's black.

Light skinned? As opposed to dark tan?

Huggins = Brasky

LOL - fair enough.
