So do you think we will get any players in for all big 12 this year.
-
Hoskins and Martin. Probably D-Hos 2nd team and Yae 3rd team if it was being decided now.
-
And Akeem = All-defensive team.
-
Yae
Dude quit it. :)
-
That's the official* Cartier Martin nickname. :)
*per KSU BB Media Guide.
And if its good enough for Huggs, its good enough for me. And Lou.

Good question, I was wondering this same thing today during lunch.
In my opinion, DHos has played at the level of a 1st team all big 12 but because the media is who the media is, he won't get selected to 1st team, but instead will have to settle for 2nd. Hopefully the media can see how far Yae's game has changed and progressed this year, how much this team leans on him, and reward him with a 2nd place spot as well.
I've seen the media twist all big 12 so many times I've really lost respect for the title.

I agree with that. If Martin comes on for the 2nd half like he did yesterday he could push for 2nd team. If we win enough down the stretch to finish in the top 4, either Martin or Hoskins will have a shot at first team.

The problem is there are so many exceptional individual performers this year.
It's tough to put Hoskins above Durant, Jackson, Boggan, or Law IV.
They'll have to put a ku player on there, too once they win the conference.
In addition to that, you've got guys that could make a pretty good case for first team in Roby (made it last year), Hannah, Marshall Brown, Augustin...even guys like Nate Carter, JamesOn Curry, and Maric could be in the running.
It'll be tough for either one to make it.
One question I haven't been able to get an answer to:
Are OOC games factored into All-Conference voting?
-
roby has been horrible this year.
heīll prob. get hon. mention based on his play from the last 2 years, but he doesnīt deserve to be even mentioned based on his performance this year.
i donīt know that ku deserves a player on the 1st team either (as rusty said, too many guys on other teams having great years). but if they win the league, it would be hard not to throw a random jayhawk on the list.

Even if there was a rule one way or another about only factoring in Conference games, it'd be impossible for a writer to ignore the entire season's body of work.
