He also now has us at 10-6.

Tons of silly, fun stats on that site.

We're 18th in the country in % of points off FT's.

Pomeroy's rankings have been in love with ou for a while now.  Because they've blown a team or two out?

I think our best shot at this will be vs. 4-seed OSU in OKC.

Has us at 10-6, but losing to OU at home, which would equal 9 wins.  Piece of crap.

Wow!  We're ranked 77th in "Luck".

How the heck do you calculate that?

He takes a bunch of peripheral stats and calculates whether we should win or lose and by how much and compares that to actual results.  If you do better than the peripherals indicate that you should (according to his formula), you're "lucky".

if you do better than kenpom predicts, it has to be luck.

can't be kenpom.

kenpom is never wrong, sometimes folks just get lucky.

and where is "The Shocker"?

I'm right here dude. That site actually shows some pretty good info. The powerhouse K-State men's basketball program is only 7 spots higher than a "mid-major" with 8 losses.

WSU's record vs. top 50:  2-3
KSU's record vs. top 50:  0-3

WSU's SOS - 61
KSU's SOS - 91

Remaining regular season games vs. Top 50:
WSU - 3
KSU - 4

Obviously the last 10 games are going to huge for both of our programs but as of right now KSU is really not in any better position to make the tourney than WSU. The advantage you guys have on us is that you have more opportunities for top 50 wins down the stretch, albeit by a small margin.

If we HAVE to play on Thursday, it doesn't get much better than the 5 seed in my book...another "easy" win, then a very winnable game on Friday...and see what happens on Saturday...

The shocks had better get a W over SIU this weekend.   IMO WSU needs to go 11-7 in MVC to get in.   10-8 is not going to cut it.  Just like 9-7 for Ksu will not cut it.

I like our chances of going 10-6 more than WSU's going 11-7.

an extra game against cu would not be good for the rpi.  better to be 6th.
