OMG

Read what his coach has to say about him:

Moses chooses Oklahoma St. over uk; coach says player overrated
By Jerry Tipton

Prospect Marshall Moses notified Kentucky Wednesday that he had committed to Oklahoma State, but his coach said that uk shouldn’t lament the loss.

“If I’m coaching Kentucky, I’d have to believe I could get better players,” said Terry Truax, who coaches Moses at Patterson Prep in Lenoir, N.C. “I wouldn’t worry if I was a Kentucky fan or supporter. Only time will tell, and I hope I’m wrong for the kid’s sake and Oklahoma State’s sake.”

Moses has problems with his academics and in not always playing with effort, Truax said.

“Marshall, right now, is very overrated,” the coach said.

The commitment follows a whirlwind recruitment by Oklahoma State. Earlier this month, Kentucky led the recruiting race for Moses, a 6-foot-7, 220-pound power forward. Moses felt so strongly about uk that he didn’t read material sent by other schools or return a call to Illinois, Truax said.

However, Kentucky and the player could not coordinate a time for an official recruiting visit, which doomed the recruitment, Truax said.

Moses was going to visit Kentucky during the weekend of the Mississippi State game on Jan. 13. Truax could not say why those plans fell through.

Then Moses was scheduled to visit during the uk-Tennessee game weekend.

“He was really fired up” about visiting last weekend, Truax said. But the visit was canceled because the player, who has not gained his academic eligibility yet, had to take the Scholastic Assessment Test the day before.

All the delays didn’t help Kentucky. “I shouldn’t say ultimately, but subsequently, that could have cost them in Marshall’s decision,” Truax said.

Oklahoma State filled the void. “Like I said before, nobody did a better job of recruiting him (than Kentucky did),” the Patterson Prep coach said. “Oklahoma State kind of came out of nowhere.”

Moses visited Oklahoma State the weekend of Jan. 20-22.

“I don’t believe Kentucky had the urgency that maybe Oklahoma State had,” Truax said. “Kentucky has a more realistic projection of Marshall. I think Kentucky’s got to believe they have to get better players.”

If so, Kentucky is not alone in that belief. Brick Oettinger, an analyst for the Prep Stars recruiting service, described Moses as no better than a marginal top 100 player.

“What Kentucky needs are more McDonald’s All-American types,” Oettinger said. “Randolph Morris types and players like that.”

We'll probably be recruiting Moses next year after he doesn't qualify.  Thanks for posting this fatty.  It makes me feel a little better.

Do you feel ignored like FAN does on GPC?  I almost replied, but I'm working on my image and was worried about overposting.

I don't feel completely ignored, and if I do, I get over myself pretty quickly. :)
