we stole the newspaper thing from ku. Why would we want to copy (of all traditions to copy) ku's?  :yuck: We should do something different like play with a beach ball or something. I just can't stand being like ku. What's next, are we going to start doing rock chalk wildcat?

We were doing it in Ahearn when I was going to KSU.   I don't think it was stolen from ku.

The newspapers were out in force every game in 1993-94, my first year at K-State and Altman's last.  This isn't something we stole from anyone.

That's why we do it so much - it has nothing to do with a low basketball IQ.

I'm just trying to get my bball IQ up.. I'm told they have the highest ones so hey, I thought I was doing something right.

The newspaper reading was done at least as early as the 1982-83 season. 

Back then, the Big 8 quarterfinals were held at the campus sites and I was there in 1983 when we got to play kwho in Ted Owen's last season as hayjawk coach.  The newspapers were there at that game !
