catfan28 (still not sure if catfan falls under the first category or not). I got tired of the ku game and tried to force myself to watch some of the wbb game.... All you here is little girls screaming (El Chupa's ultimate fantasy). :banghead:

The thing that ticks me off is that the old people freak out and cheer really loud for the women, but just sit back and eat nachos when they are watching the guys.

Yeah I don't get that either, I used to go to quite a bit of women's games when ohlde and wecker were there, my fiance played aau with ohlde wecker and koehn and the old folks cheered well at the games.

hey i'm cheering for them and you know why they don't cheer at the mens cause till the master bob huggin came we had a lot of crappy teams. Just wait they will be excited about our mens team and support the ladies cause they kicking stupid bitches ass.

Very simple.
The women's team has girls on it from towns like Clay Center, Marysville and Newton KS.
The men's teams... from small Kansas towns like Cincinnatti, OH, Miami, FL, etc
Seems we can't get the old folks excited for the big-city out of towners. :rolleyes:

I know you are not a fan of WBB.....and that's been duly noted. Though not sure why so many threads are started about it. I don't go around saying "I can't stand soccer" everywhere even though I don't like it.
But feel free to start more threads on why you don't like WBB.
For all the people on this board that don't like this topic......you sure do spend a lot of time "bringing it up". Probably to get a rise out of me. Though, that still hasn't worked.......and never will......since I don't buy into your "hate" world.
But NICE time managment. You could have been talking about mens basketball....but you instead wasted YOUR time talking about women's basketball.

Dead on. Anyone that likes women's basketball is a racist and there are mountains of evidence to support this.
-Women's basketball is terrible. No skill + no athleticism = really boring crap
-The only reason for watching women's sports is hot chicks. This is a non-factor in WBB.

You are wrong Catfan28. I root for the women's basketball team. I can identify nearly every player. I just can't stand watching it. I don't find it the least bit exciting and I cannot stand the screaming that I hear from seven-year-old over the tv. I understand that this screaming is in fact a fantasy of yours thus it doesn't bother you but it is really obnoxious for most fans of other sports than wbb.
6,586 fans?? Isn't that like in the top five?? Baylor only pulls in 5 thousand some and they said they were in the top ten for wbb attendance..

I've watched quite a bit of women's basketball as my fiance was a pretty good player and grew up playing with quite a few girls that went to ksu.
It really is a different game than the men's. She would never admit that but the styles of offense and defense. If you can accept that it is completely different from men's hoops you can respect it more and somewhat enjoy watching it.

The reason so many of those girls were there was because about 8 middle school girls basketball teams came and got free tickets.

I will admit that i really enjoyed watching Kendra Wecker. When she was here, Ksu scored a lot of points, which for me made it more entertaining.
I want our WBB to do good and succeed, but i don't follow them like i did a few years ago.

Didn't one of the WBB players in an interview say something like......"look just a bunch of us white girls out winnings games".......or something like that last year. Appears Majrlie(?sp) was a help last year and they don't appear to be getting it done this year as well with her out.
Agree the locals like cheering for there small town kind.....can't bring themselves to outwardly cheer for a for the black male......

A couple of guys who liked WBB are John Wooden and Jack Hartman. Both said that the concepts of team play were more evident there than in the men's game. (In other words what you call "athleticism" others call "showboating")

What you call "showboating", others call "scoring".
I don't get the dislike a lot of people have for offense that wasn't featured prominently in Hoosiers. The fact is, a lot of male athletes can create better opportunities to score in one-on-one situations than can be gained in running a strict offense all game.
Just because there aren't six passes before every shot doesn't mean that you can't have a higher probability of scoring with smart one-on-one moves.

Guess the Shockers have fallen so far that their fanbase is now reduced to arguing about WBB. Which is very sad considering the fact that their women's team has even fewer Valley wins than the dudes. (How is that even possible?)
