Didn't one of the kids from "Hoop Dreams" play for the Commandos?  Great name.  Reminds me of a name grade school kids would choose for their city league team.

I think Darryl Cunningham is on an opposing team in one of the games.  I'm not sure if they mention his name, but there is a shot where it's pretty clearly him - if I remember correctly, that is.

Yep, Chum's correct, D.C. was in Hoop Dreams.  
He played at St.Joe's and was a McDonald's All-American as well.

In the book version of "Hoop Dreams" the kid that went to St. Joe's relates a story about Darrel breaking a backboard on a dunk and delaying a game 45 minutes.

Gerald Eaker played on the same hs team in Chicago with the one kid from Hoop Dreams, not sure about Cunningham.

Those "DC, Secretary of Defense" signs people held up at games around the Bram in early 90s were awesome.

I still have DC's McD AA practice jersey he gave me back at K-State; came across it when I was moving recently.

nope, none.  that stuff is rare (check Beckett's if you don't believe me).
