Title: Prince
Post by: cireksu on January 10, 2007, 09:27:29 AM
I think I'm off the bandwagon.  I've stuck up for him a lot but I have a very bad feeling about everything that's happened with the coaches all leaving.

cire, you "have a bad feeling" about Prince now that Horton took an upward move from RB to OC and Raheem is an NFL guy who finally got an assistant's gig?  McCarty's leaving but I see that as a good sign.

I guess I don't see how a few coaches departing is a bad thing or an example of comical logic.

I had a bad feeling this morning.

I left mine in the stool though.

We'll see if anything else shakes out, it's more to do with if Franklin and Washington are leaving as well, not as much about morris and Horton.

Did you feel the same way when Stoops, Stoops, Venables, & Mangino left Snyder?  Coaches move on, get over it.

It's not the loss of Horton, and Morriss.  I'm worrying about something that has not yet come to fruition.

Is it normal for 5 - 6 coaches to all leave after one season?

It happened after Snyder's first season. The main staff departure that worries me is the strength training coach leaving. It just puzzles me that he was here since '93 and now he is leaving after Prince's first year. That is the only one I find odd. Franklin has been long gone for awhile now. I'm not going to put any stock into a departure from him other than Prince is forcing him out.

Not as abnormal as you think.

I'm a little more concerned with what this said about Prince's initial hire of these guys than the fact that these guys are leaving.

I'd be glad to have Franklin gone.  Same with Raheem.  The only coach I care about keeping is Tibesar.

I just hope Prince has learned from this in making his next staff hires.

Word. Flaming is only fun when at least one of the teams is good. It's best when both teams are good IMO.

Really?  I ask because I cannot think of even a handful of examples that are even REMOTELY close to what KSU is losing.  Staff departures are normal, but so quickly?  And so many?  Do tell us about these programs as I am very curious.

I also have a bad feeling in my stomach, but it wasn't caused by something I had for dinner.  It was caused by the departure of these coaches and what that means for our recruiting and our team next year.  Mark my words, the pain train is coming, and we'll feel it next year because we just went from being a lock to win the BigXII North and BCS darkhorse to praying for a birth in the Alamo Bowl.
