UPDATE:

I tried to exchange some black L's I got for Christmas for some XL's, and was told by Cat's Closet, "All stores are completely sold out of black shorts and they won't be ordering any more."

I just want to find a pair of the authentic shorts.  I like the capri style better.

My brother was informed that Nike won't be selling the authentic shorts, at least this year, due to anticipated lack of demand.  Also, supposedly they weren't supposed to sell the black shorts in the first place, which doesn't make any sense to me, since I thought one of the major deals behind black alternates was marketing.

A lot of good that Nike deal did us.

That sucks.  At least Nike doesn't use the same material for their replica jerseys that adidas uses.
