Title: Hugginista T-Shirts
Post by: pissclams on January 03, 2007, 03:12:41 PM
Ok here's the design I came up with- white print on purple shirt.

Front

Back

I called Ballards and they said they'd print them up, just let me know who wants in.
T-shirts are going to be about $15 each (depends on how many get made).

The purple is going to be the purple t-shirt that Ballards uses, I just used the first purple that Photoshop came up with to illustrate the design.
The silk screen painting will be white.

Purple with a skull and crossbones, and a gun, and K-State basketball all together seems like more of a slap in the face to the anti-Huggins establishment than using black would.

Actually, a Huggins outline with a style similar to this would be even better:

(From "the Che Store"...lol)

Might as well do it right.

I'm not sure a sub-compact glock would be the firearm of choice for Huggins and his merry band of thugs.  I'm thinking an uzi might be a better choice.  At least something more "gangsta-ish".  Although I do like the gun idea, I think some other good variations on this shirt could have any of the following instead of a gun:

     A pile of cash?
     A beer mug
A syringe, bong, or weed symbol
A horse with a big red "X" through it (perhaps my favorite)
     Some combination of the above.

It could be a t-shirt series....COLLECT 'EM ALL!!!

This pic could be the outline template.  I'd do it if I had photoshop.  (FAN?)

Stick with the gun.

I don't think it will go down below $11 per, but unless I order at least 10 then it will go up.

El Chupa Nibre- try making the Che design with Huggins face, with the "Hugginistas!" below it (i used Arial Black, Regular, 60pt, Strong). and see how people like it.  I'm guessing the Original back I designed is ok w/ everyone for the most part.

I like the Uzi idea too though, but the current gun ain't bad either.

I could get rid of the gun and move the skull and bones to the back if you'd rather see that?
Then have the Che face and Hugginista on the front.

Let's figure out design first then we can work out payment details afterwards.

I've got to at least throw one in.

Couple things; Hugginistas has to be on a black shirt and Huggins has to be ticked in the pick.  That's who he is on the floor.

i love the triunfo slogan.  maybe smaller hugginista label above, triunfo below and keep the hasta for the back?

the huggins pic needs to be just the face, full torso looks odd.

is there enough demand for 2 versions/colors?  i´d buy one of each unless payment options are a complete pain in the ass.

I can understand just the head shot, but I liked the fists with the face.  I could tweak the silhouette, but its the only pic I could find to fit the design I had in mind.

Nibre, you can probably design circles around me with a lot of this stuff, I was just throwing one out.  I'd be harder pressed to do the hi-res I admit b/c I don't have as much experience.  I know enough with Adobe design stuff to be dangerous at this point is all.

My two cents whatever happens; black shirts fit the Hugginista theme IMO.  The AK is the weapon of choice for all guerrila fighters and fits the theme.  I wanted a new phrase besides the Che bit, so I went with "(I) Win at all costs".  And the Stencil font is much more militant, again to go with the theme.

This is one of the funniest threads I've seen yet.

I was hoping to see something with a horse, but that doesn't really seem to fit the theme.  Perhaps a theme for a later shirt could take a Mob approach and include a horse head (ala the Godfather).

Anyway, great stuff.  I'll be following along for final details.

Should a shirt be sent to Huggins (and would it make him  or )?

All the designs were pretty great, its hard to choose. i suck at making decisions, but am good at spending money, so I will buy whatever shirt is selected.

this is a freakin great thread, and  can't wait to get my hands on these.

And I thought the Huggieville t-shirts were cool

Still not sure the best idea for the back but have a good idea what we can do for the front that will satisfy most everyone.

Stencil font looks much better Chupa, much more militant looking.  I think its a better fit.  Just put ksufan.com in the bottom corner of Huggins.  I'm still partial to white on black and the "(I) win at all costs" in spanish as the slogan on the back with either the grenade or AK.  AK seems to be a better fit for guerrilla fighters, which is kind of the team Huggins has this year.  Let Che keep his own slogan.

Great stuff.  Maybe add the KSUFans.com on the sleeve like the applebeas logo on the ICAT shirts?  I would love a shirt.  I am not liking the gun because I would like to wear the shirt to the game and the people at Bramlage would be PISSSSSSED OFF to see an AK on a shirt.

I still say it's too big and eliminate the shoulders.  I'm really thinking it should emulate the Che t-shirts.

This is the approximate "logo" size I like for the front of a shirt:

Discover the power of Wikipedia....

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Che_guevara

Quote
Ernesto Guevara de la Serna (June 14, 1928 – October 9, 1967), commonly known as Che Guevara or el Che, was an Argentine-born Marxist revolutionary, political figure, and leader of Cuban and internationalist guerrillas. As a young man studying medicine, Guevara traveled roughrough[›] throughout Latin America, bringing him into direct contact with the impoverished conditions in which many people lived. His experiences and observations during these trips led him to the conclusion that the region's socioeconomic inequalities could only be remedied by revolution, prompting him to intensify his study of Marxism and travel to Guatemala to learn about the reforms being implemented there by President Jacobo Arbenz Guzmán.

Some time later, Guevara joined Fidel Castro's paramilitary 26th of July Movement, which seized power in Cuba in 1959. After serving in various important posts in the new government and writing a number of articles and books on the theory and practice of guerrilla warfare, Guevara left Cuba in 1965 with the intention of fomenting revolutions first in Congo-Kinshasa, and then in Bolivia, where he was captured in a CIA/ U.S. Army Special Forces-organized military operation.[1] Guevara was summarily executed by the Bolivian Army in La Higuera near Vallegrande on October 9, 1967.[2]

After his death, Guevara became an icon of socialist revolutionary movements worldwide. An Alberto Korda photo of him (shown) has received wide distribution and modification. The Maryland Institute College of Art called this picture "the most famous photograph in the world and a symbol of the 20th century."
