Title: I didn't realize Sam Keller had only played 6 (full) games his entire career
Post by: fatty fat fat on December 18, 2006, 08:44:28 PM
Dude has as much expierence as Josh Freeman.

I thought he played extensivly as a sophomore and freshmen. I could seriously see this guy being a total bust, "scout team MVP" or not. Carpenter did just as well, if not better in that offense.

I guess that 2200 yards in those 6-7 games was just a fluke

According to Brand, the Saturday after ASU's final fall scrimmage, one day after Keller was named the team's No. 1 QB, Koetter was informed of something that would force him to instead go with Carpenter.

"I cannot tell you where it's from, and I cannot tell you what it is," Brand said. "We will never, ever tell that because it's private information regarding Sam, and we would never, ever say anything to put him in a bad light because he's a minor."

No, it wasn't a fluke.

He went 3-3 in his 6 games.

Didn't Rudy Carpenter pretty much suck this year? This is the same guy who out-performed Keller.

Couple that with Cally's incredible crappy coaching, and I don't see much of a chance he equals Taylor.

Keller threw 5 picks against USC in 2005.  Does USC play in Lincoln next year?

BUT HE KILLED LSU!!*

*never mind the fact that he lost, and that it was Miles' 2nd game as LSU coach.

"Didn't Rudy Carpenter pretty much suck this year? This is the same guy who out-performed Keller. "

rudy didn't outperform anyone.  kellar won the job on talent, rudy won it on blackmail

"Couple that with Cally's incredible crappy coaching, and I don't see much of a chance he equals Taylor."

I will let you try and figure out how stupid that sounded

Nothing Fatty said was false or stupid.

"Nothing Fatty said was false or stupid."

the false part was that rudy outperformed kellar.  that never happened, not in games not on the practice field.

what he said was stupid was that callahan ws a crappy qb coach.  zac taylor went from a kid nobody wanted out of highschool and callahan turned him into the big 12's mvp and first team all conferance.  If callahan can do that with a kid nobody wanted imagine what he can do with a guy already tabbed a a first round qb.

Rudy won it on blackmail?  Care to elaborate with some definitive proof?

Carpenter had the same 3-3 record as Keller in his first six games, but he didn't get injured.

Good coaches don't take 9-3 teams and only win five games the next year. Good coaches don't take Super Bowl teams and then totally kill the team to the point where it still hasn't recovered in just the following year. Cally did both.

That's because all the other QB's in the league sucked.    He won by default.  Don't sell yourself short.

3 stars ain't bad out of high school.  i think callahan had as much to do with his development as he did with taking the raiders to the super bowl.

*past tense.

When Nu opens up their season Keller willl not have played in a about 2 years.  But I guess practicing against that vicious Nu secondary will give Keller all the looks he'll need.

It's tough to argue with the fact that Callahan did a nice job with Taylor. Keller is far more talented, reads defenses well, and has a cannon arm. With NU's receiving corps and a loaded RB stable, they have the makings of quite an offense next year.

No, just a realist. Keller is a hell of a QB and it's silly to pretend otherwise just because he's from NU.
