Title: Well played Jmart
Post by: cireksu on December 07, 2006, 07:12:10 AM
QJeff - The latest rumor, allegedly out of the ku athletic department, is that the Big XII asked KSU to take an at-large bid to the Poinsettia or Motor City Bowl so the conference could sneak the Jayhawks into a bowl game but that Ron Prince told the conference to pound sand. Any truth to this and does it help to explain why KSU fell all the way to the Texas Bowl? Enquiring minds want to know!

AInteresting theory. Are you a lawyer? Excellent use of the term "allegedly."

I'm taking that as an unequivocal YES to the question and that is awesome.  How fing arrogant is lew perkins to expect us or anyone else in the big 12 to take an at large bid to a craptier bowl than the texas just so he can save face on the mangino extension.

I realize that Jmart was poking fun at the writer,

I really am thinking that this could have happened.

There had been rumors leading up to the B12 CCG that the big 12 was in negotiations to get ku in a bowl.  This makes more sense that the big 12 was the one doing it and not just lew perkins.  More bowls = more money.

If this is true I love Ronny even more than I did yesterday!  How classic would this be if our coach single handedly kept the squawkers out of a bowl?!  Better yet, how great would it be if he took it to the team to vote on and they all shot it down!  I love democracy.

I kind of hope it happend. It shows the Big XII that we won't take this kind of crap.
