Posted: 12/1/06 12:56:08 pm reply to this message I don't know if Missouri is the fifth best test in the Big 12 yet... but they looked great yesterday. Also, the south isn't going to have 4 spots in a row, because they go head-to-head against better teams. I could see KSU or MU even getting to #4.
1. ku
2. Texas A&M
3. Texas
4. Oklahoma St.
5. Missouri
6. KSU
7. Baylor
8. Oklahoma
9. Texas Tech
10. Nebraska
11. Iowa St.
12. Colorado

Posted: 12/1/06 2:02:52 pm reply to this message as of 12-1-06, no rational person couldn't have KSU in the bottom 3.
With Walker coming in, it could get much better, or it could implode.

Posted: 12/1/06 2:03:24 pm reply to this message South teams have always suffered from playing each other twice. North teams have always suffered from having to play EACH year in the two toughest home courts (statistically) -- AFH and Boulder (tough on everyone but ku) -- instead of every other year.
THIS year, it appears to me, the South is stronger again, and Boulder looks like it won't be such a tough place to play. I think the schedule advantage just tipped further in favor of mediocre North teams than ever before.
So, I DON'T think this is the order of how good teams are, but I DO think it is the order of finish in conference play:
ku
TAMU
UT
OSU
MU
NU
Baylor
Tech
OU
KSU
CU
ISU

Posted: 12/1/06 2:23:59 pm reply to this message Right now Air Force looks like the Big 12 Champion with wins over CU and Tech.
Seriously the worst two losses in the conference are CU getting dropped by UNC Wilmington and ORU over ku.
Based on what they've accomplished thus far, I'd rank'em like this...
ku...yeah we lost to ORU, but so what.
aTm...We''l no MUCH more about them in a week, but they look good.
OSU...undefeated won AT Mizzou St. ;^) and Auburn
UT quality win over SJU
MU...looked mighty impressive in Arkansas butt whipping.
NU...quality win over Creighton
Baylor...beat Colo St....played Gonzaga tough.
Tech...two losses, but appear to have some talent
ISU...win over Minnesota doesn't look that great anymore.
OU two "good" losses, they looked competitive against Memphis and Purdue
KSU...two king size butt whippings...lokking forward to seeing them in person against CSU tomorrow.
CU...Patton and Roby both mailing it in.
"I... uh, I... was... I think... unconscious at the time."--Q Snyder.
Predicted order of finish:
1) ku
2) UT
3) aTm
4) OSU
5) Tech
6) MU
7) KSU <-------I thought I was being somewhat pessimistic
8) Nubb
9) OU
10) ISU
11) BU
12) CU

Posted: 12/1/06 2:53:54 pm reply to this message Guess I missed the the last MU and KSU games.:) I still think after the top 4 it is a cr@p shoot. I think huggins will have KSU playing better by conference time and maybe I should raise misouri up a bit.

Posted: 12/1/06 3:57:14 pm reply to this message MU finishes 6th. Coach Anderson might be able to coach them up to 4th or 5th since the south teams will beat each other up but that would be one hell of a coaching job. I'll go with:
1.ku
2.A&M
3.UT
4.OSU
5.MU
6.BU
7.TT
8.OU
9.NU, KSU, ISU(Tie)
12.CU

Yeah, we'll show em when we grab our standard T (7) - 6-10 12PM game in Dallas slot.
:blank:
The Shockers won at LSU!
I would rank like this:
1. Wichita State (wins @GM, @LSU, @SU)
2. Oklahoma State (wins over SU and Mizz St.)
3. Kansas (win over FL, but DeP and ORU hurt)
4. Missouri State (beat Wiscy)
5. A&M (lost only tough game so far and WSU won)
6. Texas (young and talented)
7. Nebraska (Is CU any good?)
8. Missouri (beat Arky)
9. Tech
10. Baylor (getting gray now)
11. Iowa State
12. Oklahoma
Kansas State and Colorado have been removed from the Big XII conference. The conference RPI was bad enough so someone had to be cut. WSU will start a football program and Terry Allen's boys will move to 1-A football. Oklahoma stayed in the conference because of their football program.
CU has applied for membership into the PAC-10 and KSU is hoping the MVC will take them to replace WSU or MSU.
Welcome to the conference Shockers and Bears!

Rusty, do you have any preseason phog.net lists?
Win 5 straight conference games against teams that are a combined 7-21 in conference play and all of a sudden you are a title contender. Good work.
Conference championships aren't really that big of a deal.
