Why are you stirring the pot?
-
i just don't know how prince could pull enough strings to do that
-
Wow. I am speechless over that thread, it's almost unbelievable.
There are so many levels of genius in that thing it's incredible.
:dive: :koolaid:

K-State/Prince getting Freeman's dad the the job with the Republican party may be the most rediculous message board "rumor" I've ever seen. Utterly rediculous.
My big question is when will Prince's contract be redone and a raise given. Not like others are going to be running after him, but when you see Mangino at 1.5 mil and Pinkel at 1.2, its hard not to think Prince shouldn't deserve a little boost, even if it is just one year.

I didn't take you to be so shockingly naive.
KSU had nothing to do with Freeman's pops getting a job. And unicorns DO exist, dammit! They do!

The Power of KSU:
Able to reach all the way to Arizona.
Get jobs for QB recruit's parents in political organizations.
Cover up crime after crime committed by players.
Cheat for years and never get caught.
Don't underestimate what KSU is capable of doing . . . and don't pay any attention to the blacked out Suburban in your rear view mirror.
-
Wefald is silly smart. Gets the in with Sillybelius for the mentoring program and with the republicans with a QB's dad. He could have went all ku on us and made him the graduate assistant to the women's soccer club team, instead he goes the political route.
Brilliant!
-
Whomever got him the job needs an under the table raise.
-
What I want to know is who they think is orchestrating these deals..
It's them that has the mover and shaker at AD.
-
Clearly I'm no fan of Capt. Timmy overall, but he's done plenty of good things (funny how he never referenced those posts when I brought up the good things he's done . . . but I digress). KSU athletics is one of the most net profitable athletic departments in college sports. Toss in the new b-ball seating deal next season and it's only going to grow.
Speaking of moving and shaking Lew . . . is it fun with numbers? Shoe contract . . . inflated by using MSRP?? Net Revenues . . . is he counting capital gifts as revenue?? If ku is so flush with money, why in the hell are the students paying for the new crew house that 98% of them will never see?? At least at KSU the students are paying fees on athletic facilities most will see and use and campus organizations can use them at a really cheap rate, and they hold graduation ceremonies in one, as well as lectures and other campus/academic related events.
Again, don't underestimate the quiet power of KSU.

I Wonder: Yep, it's the same Freeman family
Ned Seaton Staff Writer
Q: Is there any connection between Ron Freeman, the executive director of the Kansas Republican Party, and the Ron Freeman who is the father of Josh Freeman?
A: Yes. It's the same guy.
The background: In case you've been living under your porch for the past four months, Josh Freeman is the starting quarterback at K-State. He's a freshman, but he came in at mid-season and helped salvage what appeared to be a rocky fall for the Wildcats. They're now headed to a bowl game later this week.
Ron Freeman is Josh's dad. In the sports context, it's been widely noted that the elder Freeman played pro football in the USFL, even went to training camp with the Chiefs and the Bills of the NFL. So Josh has football in his genes and in his upbringing.
In the political context, Ron Freeman has taken a fairly high profile as the executive director of the Republican Party. Although he's in an appointed position with the party — as opposed to an elected position — he's made public appearances and speeches alongside the candidates, as well as on his own.
But in that context, he doesn't make much of the connection to Josh. He says he made a very deliberate decision to separate his political activities from Josh's public life as the starting quarterback for the Wildcats. Mixing the two in any way "could be misconstrued," he said, and could put Josh in an awkward position.
Even around the family dinner table, there's not a lot of talk about politics, he said. "Josh isn't that interested in politics," Ron said, and given his schedule at K-State, "he hasn't been around much for dinner, either."
Ron Freeman lives in Grandview, Mo., with his wife Teresa. They also have a daughter, Dacia, who is 20. She goes to Pittsburg State, which is also Ron and Teresa's alma mater.
Freeman ran for Congress in 1994 and for the Missouri state senate in 1998. He had his own small business, consulting on leadership and politics, he said. He also runs a football combine for high school players from the region interested in playing college ball, coordinating it with K-State graduate Paul Coffman. That, in and of itself, is a major undertaking, he said.
Tim Shallenburger, the current GOP chairman in Kansas, helped bring Freeman across the state line as the executive director of the party. Freeman started there May 1 of this year. (Shallenburger has announced that he's leaving the post, but Freeman said he plans to stay "to build the organization.")
Although he keeps football and politics separate, he did make some parallels. In both, "you try to build on the positives."
He acknowledges with a chuckle that "Josh had a better fall than I did," since the GOP generally lost ground in Kansas in the November elections. But he points out that the top three vote-getters in the state — Ron Thornburgh, Lynn Jenkins and Sandy Praeger — were all Republicans, and that the party still controls 62 percent of the state Legislature. He said that many factors combined to give the Democrats a strong position in the election, but their gains were "minimal."
Getting back to a central message about smaller government and lower taxes will mean success for the party in the future, he said. In that sense, it's a lot like football, he said: build on the positives, correct the mistakes, and move on.
Freeman said he's very comfortable in his Grandview home, and has no interest in moving to Kansas to run for office.
Anyway, to get back to your question: It's the same guy. He tries to keep those roles separate, but there's a connection.

For some reason, this article fails to acknowledge KSU's role in getting Freeman the job.

Who, at K-State would have the influence to get Freeman his appointment?
-
Powerful K-State Alumni involved in the Republican Party in Kansas Rod.
Again, don't underestimate the power of K-State.
-
"K-State/Prince getting Freeman's dad the the job with the Republican party may be the most rediculous message board "rumor" I've ever seen. Utterly rediculous."
so are you saying he doesn't have that job?
-
No dickhead, he's saying K-State didn't get him the job. Don't they teach you law clerks to read??
-
dax,
You're not answering the question. Who would have the influence to do such a thing? Powerful alumni means little.
The position is by appointment. Surely, some people could say "Yeah, pick him because his son is QB at KSU."
I HIGHLY doubt that his son being at KSU got him the job or his appointment was tied to his son coming to KSU.
-
No dickhead, he's saying K-State didn't get him the job. Don't they teach you law clerks to read??
He's not the law clerk. He's the NU fan trying to come across as a KSU fan and then gave up when he was exposed.

Meh... law clerk married to fat lady, guy who pretends to be KSU fan but really is NU fan, same difference. :flush:

It means a lot to them. I was only thinking of them. They have fragile egos, you know..

so let me get this right. ron freeman loses elections in the state of missouri right and left. He lives in missouri for 25 years. then, out of the blue the state of kansas decides they want this habitual loser to head up the entire states republican party and this just happens to happen ONLY after josh freeman commits to ksu and ksu fans don't think one thing has to do with the other? not to mention, the guy who gave him the appointment went to KSU.
wow, those are some serious blinders you guys have on

Hey, Callahan got embarassed in a Super Bowl, then somehow ruined SuperBowl talent and led them to a 4-12 season, and then was fired because the team was on the verge of mutiny and he still managed to get a job.

you really wanted freeman, didn't you?
-
I just want to know if Shallenburger had Ron Freeman do the growl when he was appointed.
Or if Ron Freeman text messaged Nebraska's governor to let them know he wouldn't be coming.
-
i'm still pissed that dwaine barnes doesn't have a job yet at ksu.
-
well buttrod tell me what is distorted
is it not a fact that freeman was having an unsuccusfull political carrear in missouri with more than one failed election?
is it not a fact that he hadn't lived in kansas for over 25 years?
is it not a fact that the state of kansas republican party gave him an awesome job running the state republican party after freeman commited to ksu?
what exactly is distorted?

LOL @ butchering the English Language..
Anyway, back to the point... I actually tell people that we got Freeman's dad a job. Seriously, how is that a negative? If KSU has that kind of power, then that is only a good thing. It is different than if we gave him a position on the football staff because, well crap, ku does that. It isn't hard to get someone into an organization that you run, but it has got to be extremely difficult to get someone into an organizationg that you have absolutely no control over. crap, I think Wefald is a Democrat.. So, I hope it is true that we got Ron Freeman his job, I don't think uNL will ever have enough power to do such a thing. Now that we have that cleared up... What will the next thing that you decide to bitch about be, Purple Cobra??

yep, I thought so. KSU did resort to paying for a recruit. I guess if that's the only way you can get them, then that is what you will have to do. I wonder if Prince has ever taken any money out of his crack stash to buy a recruit? you guys are gonna be the OU of the north, except you wear faggot purple

Anyone else wearing faggot purple today? I am! :ku:

I'm still waiting for the proof of the influential KSU alumni who hired Freeman at the KGOP in exchange for his kid going to KSU.
Until then, you'll have to wear lesbian red.
-
Speaking as an avid Wildcat Fan and Kansas resident who voted for Sebelius and against Kline......
Thank God Ron Freeman was hired!

My God, there are so many things wrong with this guy's (lack of) control of the language, I don't know where to start. It's almost like this is not his native tongue. I think I could probably type in latin and more people could understand what I was saying. Maybe we should change his screen name to" I like Nebraska and I am functionally illiterate."
