"I looked up in the stands Saturday and figured there had to be 12,000-13,000 students," Mangino said. "Probably only 200 or so tore down the goal posts, so it's not an indictment of our whole student body.
"I love our student body, so I'm going to be easy on them. But at some point, you have to start expecting to win and act accordingly."
Okay, we get it. you're trying everything you can do to claim we aren't rivals. fine. whatever.

Wouldn't that point come sometime after you start consistently winning games. If I were a ku fan :yuck: I'd be tearing down the goal post too. Fat man needs to have a few season's above .500 before he starts quoting Bill Snyder.

Youtube shows plenty more than 200 people. The videos sound on there also doesn't have a single trace of anyone booing them when they did it, only crazed cheers.
They measure their seasons success on beating us and making 6 wins. If they do so, it's a succesful season for them, even though there is an additional game on the schedule and them having the easiest possible schedule in the entire Big XII.

The greatest thing is that one video alone has more than 200 people, and that's only showing one goal post. The other post(the one closest to the student section) got ripped down too, and I'd say it's safe to assume by at least as many if not more people.

As someone who was there until the bitter end, they were definitely coming in droves towards the goalposts.
200 students, my &$$. Of course, this is coming from the guy who can't count calories worth a damn either.
-
I think he is referring only to the number of people that actually touched the goal posts while they were standing.

Yeah, he was. That's what makes it such a stupid thing to say.
