Since I'm going on my fifth year of living in this little town, I suppose I should make myself useful and give folks some ideas of where to go and what to do in Lawrence this weekend.
Friday night:
For any of you planning to get here to party on Friday night, Mass Street is pretty much the scene. Good variety of bars down there. Louise's (10th street), Red Lion (10th Street) and Quintons (6th street) are okay. Abe and Jake's (6th street) and Brothers (11th street) have dance floors. Fatso's (10th street) sometimes has a dance floor, sometimes a band, and sometimes nothing. Looks like the Bottleneck (8th street) and the Granada (10th street) both have shows that night...bands I've never heard of.
Unlike Rustyville, bars in Lawrence actually have specials on gameday. Here's the Friday night specials: http://www.lawrence.com/drinkspecials/friday/, and here are the Saturday specials. http://www.lawrence.com/drinkspecials/saturday/
There's a pretty good cover band called Sellout that will be playing on Friday and Saturday nights at the Jazzhaus (between 9th and 10th on Mass).
Eating:
Free State Brewery (6th street) is good. One of my fav's is Jefferson's (8th street). Burgers, wings, etc. La Parilla is also good. Papa Keno's (10th) is good pizza. There's also a BWW and Chipotle down there.
The Stadium:
Not a lot of parking at the stadium, and the parking that's there is reserved. You can find parking on the streets around the stadium if you're early enough. I recommend parking down by the law school/Allen FieldHouse (south end of campus). It's usually free to park in those lots.
You can't see as well from the hill these days, with the videoboard and whatnot.
That's all I can think of for now. Let me know if you have questions and I'll see if I can help ya out.

I wish I could make it . . . New York, NY, Chicago, Miami, Atlanta, L.A., Las Vegas, Milan, Paris, London, Miami, Monaco, Rio de Jinaro, Toronto, Montreal, Denver, Dallas, Madrid, Moscow, Lawrence, KS.
Really pretty much the same thing, and it's a shame I can't make it back this week.

Eats:
What about Buffalo Bobs? Its great BBQ!
Can't go wrong with Pizza Shuttle...especially if you're going for late night munchies.
Bars:
The Sandbar, its a dive, but I have quite a few K-State friends who go there alot
If your feeling really froggy, there is always the Hawk or the Wheel for some of this :nahnah: to ku fans, which could lead to some of this :poundon:, which almost happened to me and some friends once. Some ku parents kinda got mouthy with us, but I really can't justify beating on a middle aged man and his loud mouth wife.
