Title: Josh Freeman..

Nominated for Cingular National Player of the Week award (http://www.kstatesports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?KEY=UXEKSIAMNQXEIPO.20061111213700&DB_OEM_ID=400&ATCLID=684096)

Walter Camp National Player of the Week (http://www.kstatesports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?KEY=UXEKSIAMNQXEIPO.20061111213700&DB_OEM_ID=400&ATCLID=684097)

Folks, it doesn't get any better than this.  After watching the highlights, his throwing has gotten so much better, his execution is amazing.  He is our Vince Young, but I think he'll be even better.

Hop on everyone, this ride is about to get crazy!

Now that his first read doesn't have to be the defensive line, his progressions and his decision-making have become very good!

Thing about comparing Freeman to Vince Young--their strengths are pretty different.  Vince was always a good runner; weak passer (in the beginning).  Freeman, at this stage of the game anyway, looks a lot more polished than Vince did his freshman/soph years.  Just my .02

Agreed. Since JF won Player of the Week, his KATPAK is on the way.

I was not comparing their skills, more like their celebrity.

Freeman has made the media fall in love with KSU and now everyone is going to be watching us.  If our program continues to improve and we return to the glory days (ala 1997-2003) then we're going to be special.   I would not be surprised if Josh leads us to a shot at the NC game.  What we've learned is that this coaching staff took a rag tag bunch of players, molded them, weathered some tough moments, and then got them to believe they could make something special happen.  Snyder knew these kids could do it, and now they believe they can.  We have a lot of young players who are obviously going to get better and with an offense that has productivity, and a QB that can throw like he did (and man did he have some very pretty throws) it's going to be exciting.

i've noticed the last couple of games the line has been given freeman some major time in the pocket, not sure what that means, whether the line is just getting better, or whether the offense is just starting to respect and like him

Mj, that 39 yard Td to Yamon was as pretty a pass as I have ever seen.  Yamon had separation and JF put it right. on. the. money.

Beautiful.

What really impressed me was how Josh threaded some of those passes between defenders, to exactly where the ball was supposed to go.  There were a couple of times he threaded the needle like that, and I was thinking 'Man, if anybody else threw that, it would have been picked off.'  Freeman's coming along NICELY.  Now hopefully they don't get big heads & lay an egg in Larryville.  Honestly, I'm not real worried about that happening.

What a difference seven days can make.  Let's all face it - he will never be the caliber of Vince Young if he doesn't have a line in front of him.  He could be the best QB in the Big XII, but that won't win games if he is running for his life on every down.

this just proves that the ut game was a fluke.  they looked past you and you made them pay.  congrats, it was a fun game to watch but thats about it.  if you played again the horns would beat you badly.

Sure Tejas would beat us 9 out of 10.  We played the tenth game.
