blows.  Coffman has to get rid of the ball.  Just throw it out of bounds.  And he missed Brod Smith wide open down the sidelines in the first half on a stop and go.  Would have been an 80 yard td.

Where the hell are our WR's?

usually a pass has to be thrown down field (ie.. more than 7 yds) for receivers to "show up." We have to talent at wr this year to have a great offense. Coffman threw two passes that were more than 10 yds down the field and didnt convert either.
Wins with coffman this year: 4-6
Wins with a decent qb (comparable to gregory even) this year: 7-9

UCLA's secondary is suppose to be one of the best in the nation so im not to worried yet.

exactly what iwas thinking.

holding onto the ball and not seeing an open wr = coverage sacks.

props to ucla.  good opponent.  any media saying this was a cupcake needs to be beaten.

this was definetly a solid win. a lot of previews i read said this was a statement make or break your season game. win-have a pretty good year for the cats. lose-have a pretty tough year.

and we won!

I have mixed emotions on this one.

I thought the quarterback protection could have been better. There were a lot of hurry-up throws. But then when the quarterback had the time, the receivers were not open. Leg cramps seemed to have affected Coffman and Smith.

If this game had been played near the end of the month, I think the passing game would have shown more production.

I tend to agree with the other posters here. Running against UCLA was the plan here. Didn't show much if anything new here to future competition.  Snyder is highly secretive and only reveals what is required to win at the moment. I think our passing game improves. But, that said.  Carson is not what we've become use to at the quarterback position. Maybe smartest but not the quickest. :kstatriot:

Running is always the game plan with this squad. In no way did we run the ball just because we played UCLA, but because Carson is the QB and is average at best when asked to throw. Didn't see the game last night, can any one give me a synopsis of Carson (and other QBs) performances?

Kansas State   C/ATT   YDS   AVG   TD   INT
Coffman           18/26           280   10.8   3   0

He is also ranked #14 in QB ratings. Thats the top ranked Big 12 QB

I think the one good thing about Saturday is we have shown the passing attack is an option that Snyder is not afraid to use and we can be successful at it. MoState was doing a great job at attacking our RB, but we were able to come back and throw the ball for some success. This will make defenses respect (somewhat) our passing game, if we can continue to perform in the air.

You have to throw the ball when they sell out to stop the run.

Yes this is what happened. What was good about Saturday is that we were able to have some success. If we wouldn't have had success teams would be able to easily sell out on the run without concern.
