Huskers and Buyout...
this morning on KLIN Harvey P. said there technically aren't any "exit penalties", but there are provisions for paying liquidated damages to remaining schools who might suffer as a result of the exit. Since the Big 12 apparently now is much better off financially AFTER Nebraska left, there really are no liquidated damages for the remaining schools. Therefore his view is Nebraska should not have to pay for any liquidated damages since they don't exist.
Asked whether a final settlement would wind up in court, Perlman just said he hopes not but we'll have to see how it works out.
:buh-bye: < ---- cornflakes making sure the door doesn't hit them on the way out.
BTW, Nebraska will lose what little respect they still have if they skate away from paying the exit fee.
Enjoy the Big Ten, 'Huskers...

If the fee is paid to the Big 12, Texas, OU and TAM get the all of that money. None of the other 7 get a dime. Sweet deal.
Was it the Jack Daniels wagon? I stay on that one... :lick: :D:buh-bye: < ---- cornflakes making sure the door doesn't hit them on the way out.

With NU's record against The University of Texas, that should make for a pretty poor season for you guys.Damn, you are correct.. Could be a bad year for the Corn!!! :frown:
Nope. Since Bebee stated that the Big 12 has more money from their new TV contract there is no hardship. I think Beebe may have sold his soul on this one. No idea where the money is coming from.So to follow the line of thinking that because of a new contract there would be no liquidation damages, wouldn't a projection of what the contract would have been with NU & CU result in a harm to the remaining schools?
"However, he called the projected average annual TV splits of $20 million for Texas, Oklahoma and Texas A&M, with the other schools getting $14 million-$17 million each, "too high, just not realistic."
"Now, who knows? Maybe they can break the mold and come up with a model nobody's seen."
His firm projects an average annual total of $135 million a year for the 10 schools.
