Ok, but not seeing any consequences if the deadline passes or if nubb or Mizzou say "Sure we are in the Big 12" but bolt if Big 10/11 offers later.
Maybe implied consequences of the six to join the Pac-10 if the deadline passes ?
It is going to be interesting regardless what happens. I've got a feeling KSU will be hosed if the Big 12 does break up.

oh it's already official were FnCKED if the big 12 breaks up. were gonna be screwed into a non BCS connference.
Personally, I'd prefer the 'Cats in a more western conference since it'd be closer to me.Ok, but not seeing any consequences if the deadline passes or if nubb or Mizzou say "Sure we are in the Big 12" but bolt if Big 10/11 offers later.

OK, I stated the obvious !
OTOH, maybe being in a Non-BCS conference may seem to suck right now, but who knows ? It might be better to be in the Mountain West or other conference. It would be kind of refreshing to disengage from nubb, mizzou, the tejas schools, etc...
Ok, you can fire away now...
Expanding on Charlie's point, Everyone needs to calm down. K-State will be fine. We're far from becoming the next big thing in the missouri valley conference. Understand that if the Big 12 blows up, there is an opening for a 6th BCS conference. Either we invite several MWC schools to fill out the new BIG 12 while maintaining BCS status, or we join the MWC which, being the strongest non-bcs conference, is next in line to fill the position. Either way, we have an easier route toward a BCS game. With the addition of Boise State to the MWC to make a total of 10, we just have to make sure K-State and ku get the slots instead of Baylor and Iowa State. Does this make sense? Any questions? Any flaws in my logic? There. Problem Solved.

Any flaws in my logic? There. Problem Solved.Good logic but there is one flaw. Conference invites are all about football. The MWC will get AQ status shortly without ku or KSU. The Kansas schools would help in basketball, but that is second fiddle to football. If the MWC were to add Boise State to ensure AQ status in football, that leaves 2 slots assuming they want to go to 12 teams. They can choose from the 4 leftover Big XII teams, Baylor, Iowa State, Kansas and Kansas State. None of these schools bring ANYTHING to the table in football. Three of them have been cannon fodder in the pathetically bad Big XII North and the other is the doormat of the South. The MWC already has enough weak football programs in Wyoming, SDSU, and UNLV. They don't need any more. They would probably be better off with top teams from the WAC or C-USA than any of the "leftover 4".
