Title: Good lord
Post by: AzCat on November 11, 2006, 03:22:45 PM
30% (24/80) from the floor, 21% (6/29) from behind the arc, and 59% (16/27) from the line.  Call me crazy but if a team gets 80 shots and 27 free throw attempts in a game shouldn't they be scoring more like 100 than 70?  Someone please convince me that this is going to bet better before next year.   :yuck:

It'll get better. There is going to be an adjustment period. We will struggle a bit in November and December.

Don't be surprised if we drop a few starting Wednesday.

Im more encouraged to see the defense and rebounding improved. This team has decent shooters, so I'm hoping theyre just in a funk. I think the biggest problem is there isnt really any playmakers on the team. Young has potential to be one, but is still a work in progress.

I am disappointed somewhat over where this is going.  I watched the Wash game (delayed because I saw it on passport on demand) and then watched this game (live) and I thought the team needed to get the tempo up a lot quicker.  By the end of the game, the team showed it's ability, but defensively, they need to get more consistent.

I'm not "panicking" yet.. but seriously, I think they show improvement as they get more comfortable.

LOL - Huggins is letting 'em have it on the postgame show.  That's encouraging.

I saw alot of positives in the game. The main positive that in the second half Bennett actually started to play and wasn't looking at Huggins after each offense or defense rebound in the second half. Luis took an 18 footer and made it. The field goal percentage will get better, it really has to do with or new people improving. Blake Young didn't have a great day, but still made some nice things happen and scored some points.

We are ok, don't get too carried away just yet, especially with field goal percentage.

While they didnt look very impressive, they looked way better than they did against Washburn. So at least you know they're improving.

That's because it couldn't get any worse...

I was expecting a different kind of game than the one they played against WashU.

Huggy's teams play with much more tempo, and maybe they are just not as comfortable in the system yet as they could be.  Yeah, they'll get better.

Huggins on the game, "This has not added any enjoyment to my day."

Dont expect this team to play much up tempo. There arent enough ball handlers. The fast break execution was awful. How many 2 on 1s and 3 on 1s did you see end up without a basket. There are some good athletes like Young, Wright, and Harris though.

I know but as soon as I decided the football team really sucked they started kicking ass.  :katpak:
