Somebody posted something like this earlier this year. I have to agree 120% with it now. Bramlage still proves to be futile. Anybody can attack this but how many games have we lost on the road this season? How many games have we lost at the Octagon of Doom?
-
It is my opinion that Ahearn should be renevated to be the practice facility and museum that has been discussed but not as a regular or part tie game venue. Why not celebrate the history of K-State in one of the most historic arena's in the nation?

FINALLY SOMEBODY SAYS IT! THANK YOU!

We may as well build a whole new building because the repairs and work to bring ahern up to code would be rediculous (sp). That place would not pass inspections for that many people, fire codes and multiple other codes have changed to where Ahern would have to be gutted and redone completely to ever be a viable basketball facility. I agree it would be pretty cool to get the old building a run but financally it just isn't possible.

ahearn record - 369-96
ood record - 244-89
not seeing that bad of a comparison
silly statement.
-
What is your plan for Bramlage? World's largest BWW?
-
Don't be dumb. We've proven this season that the Bram can rock just as well as any arena in the country. Don't take the fact that the fans didn't show up on Saturday out on the building.

Buildings win games.

Buildings win games.
Yeah, and it appears we can't win many conference games at home.
-
I don't think it matters where we are, KSU is going to be good for atleast the next 3 years, thank God for Frank, and lets hope KSU is ready for this Big XII tourny...
-

Yeah, and it appears we can't win many conference games at home.
Uh.....We were 5-3 in Big XII home games this season Padre.
-
maybe he was getting at losing to two unranked, middle to low big 12 standing teams?
:dunno:
would we have beaten isu at ahearn?
no.
we laid a big fat turd - it happens.

He was. It happens. It sucks. Doesn't matter in the big picture. Moving on.

5-3 is nothing to brag about buddy. Especially if you want to call it Octagon of Doom.
-
I remember getting beat by Montana State in Ahearn back in 77' or 78' with a Hartman team that contended for or won the Big 8 that year. The place rocked back then but upsets do happen. We've had our share this year so hopefully next year Bramladge will be the OOD.

Which is exactly why I said we should reconsider using that nickname. We're a GOOD home team not a GREAT home team. Maybe you should start with a smaller level of sports message board and leave the big boy board to the professionals.
-
I can't believe anyone is this stupid. It's not the building. It's the players, the coaches, and to a lesser extent, the fans. Anyone who believes in "Bramlage magic" or "Ahearn magic" or the magical properties of the "Octagon of Doom" is an idiot. What makes those facilities work, nor not, is the people inside them. That is ALL that matters.

There's no &@#%ing magic but some buildings do have an impact of outcomes of games.

There's no fracking magic but some buildings do have an impact of outcomes of games.
Are you high or just slow? The building doesn't impact the game. The players, coaches and fans do. There was usually a great atmosphere in Ahearn, and it was the FANS that gave it that atmosphere, not the limestone and mortar. Bramlage has a great atmosphere (at least when the team is decent) and that is because of the fans. Fans have an impact on the outcomes of games. Buildings do not.

Did anyone notice just how pathetic the student crowd was, at the game? They sat on their ass and stayed quiet. Maybe they should consider drinking after the game, and not before. The crowd has just as much blame as the players. That was just plain pathetic. :chainsaw:

Fake Patty's > Irrelevant ISU bball game
IMO KSU should factor fake patty's day in and request to play the last big 12 game on the road. A couple of years ago we played at Kansas on fake patty's. :barman:

NYRoyal, Ahearn had something to do with it man not trying to argue with you. Ahearns gym had students crazy for a reason. Bramlage is just like some blunt.

Here's your mnemonic device: Remember that the word ridiculous is 'something that is worthy of ridicule.'

I would love to burn Ahearn to the ground with everyone who ever attended a game there locked inside.

:frown: you can burn where the actual games were played but I'll be damned if you touch the newer bball gyms or memorial stadium.
