Title: iowa state
Post by: ECN on March 05, 2010, 04:34:47 PM
so ive been thinking.

will we roll over like we did against nubb or will senior night prove too much and we steamroll isu?

will there be an emotional letdown after ku or will the boys tighten up the machine and get back on track?

does denis go apecrap in shooting percentages because this is his last home game?

does luis prove to be a factor now that his madré will be watching him for the first time ever?

will he run less uglier now that she has made fun of him?

(damn, wish my time machine would come back. my wife took it out. said she needed to get a pack of smokes and some milk)

I see a fairly sluggish game that's competitive for longer than it probably should be, but we'll eventually pull away in the 2nd half and win by about 10-15. I'm thinking a score around 74-60.

Being that it's Senior Night, C. Merr. and Colon will probably get more PT than normal(they deserve it)and while they may know our offensive sets, they don't do much to improve our offensive efficiency, especially when they're on the court together. That's OK, like I said, they both deserve the PT on SR night and it really won't threaten our chance at a W.

With the rumors of Coach McNeck getting axed soon, I wonder if he'll be pulling out all the stops, searching for something to salvage this season. Maybe zone us the entire game? Maybe he'll be saving his tricks for a miraculous run at the B12 tourney. 1 thing's for sure, they had the game against Misery won but failed to execute in crunch time and put it away. If they do 1 of 2 relatively easy things during the end of regulation and OT, they win. 1. Realize Zaire Taylor is going to drive right and finish with his right hand. Yeah, they were a couple of good finishes but you force him left and he doesn't get those off. 2. Have Scott Chirstopherson properly execute a bounce pass. If Christopherson doesn't send that pass under 10 secs left directly at Dendy's feet, he's got a dunk. Game over. Clones win. But nope Christy got sped up and and made the turnover. Gotta be frustrating for the Clones.

This is the game I've been concerned about all season.  The team has been flat before, but pulled out the win.  Tonight... we'll see in the final 6 minutes.

It's bad enough that the officiating is helping KSU ck but ISU is not helping themselves w/ the self-inflicted poor plays.

K-State pulls within 1, and then wastes two offensive possessions.  Back to 5 point deficit.  This is not the performance of a top 5 team. Or a No 1. seed.
