Huggins will have a built-in recruiting tool in Beasley, who says he already is working on Terrence Boyd, a five-star 6-5 shooting guard in the 2009 class.

Sweetness. 2009 could be a GREAT.

He'd be a great get, but GRCOAT is over. I guess we'l justl have to live with what we got this year.

GRCOAT may be over, but what about setting the SGCROAT?

Well, there's that O.J. Mayo guy - he still hasn't signed with anyone. I'm waiting patiently. He's coming.

Wow Leyton, you've got a serious hard-on for Mayo.

As we all should.

No doubt. All GRCOAT hardliners do.

I guess I'm a silly realist. Of course, J-Mart has opened up the hope again after squashing it for a while. There is a chance, but I'm not counting on it. It is clear from recent updates that we haven't completely cut off ties, we've been to Huntington to visit for example.
I think the final ship will be Evans or Thornton, then perhaps another should someone else (Yearby) leave later on.

I don't believe our chances are as bad as a lot of people seem to think. What are his other options, really? Why would one think that the option of him going to KSU is so much worse than any of his other options that one would think there is a slim chance of him going to KSU?
Suppose there's a 20% chance he goes to KSU, a 30% chance he goes to USC, and a 50% chance he doesn't go to college at all. That would mean that he is probably not going to go to KSU. It does not mean, however, that there is only a very slim chance and no reason to be hopeful. A one in five chance is worth hoping for, isn't it?

Mayo himself has seemed to be consistent on a public comments basis. He visited USC in the summer based on his handler's recommendation. He said then that he would visit KSU and Fl during the season. To my knowledge, he hasn't visited either and hasn't commented publicly beyond that. I suspect that with Walker here, we are still strongly in the mix...should OJ decide to go to college. I suspect he has had his head jerked everywhere by people who want a piece of him. He probably hasn't decided at all himself what he wants to do. I doubt any of us have ever had all the opportunities or people throwing things at us the way he has over the last year...and he's still in high school. I don't think he'll announce anything until spring...which works in our favor. If Walker comes on great and has a great time in college playing for Huggs then our chances just get stronger. Still, it comes down to OJ keeping somewhat of a level head and putting himself in a position to be eligible, and deciding that a year of college would be better for him than the other options. Don't give up on GRCOAT yet. If we are the #1 class, fringe top 10 class excluding Walker, we are GRCOAT if OJ decides to go to college. Otherwise, we are still the best class in the country.

Mayo is smart enough to understand that the best point guard in the world can’t do squat without a talented surrounding cast that he can feed the ball to and be able to stick it in the basket. Other talented kids also take the pressure off that talented point guard and will be able to get his own shot with a double or triple team. For these reasons Mayo has always gravitated toward teams with talent, first at North College Hill and now in Huntington. So the question begs: which team next year will have that complimentary talent, K-State or USC? I think we have a lot better chance to land Mayo than some are thinking.
