Title: With the new FSN deal?
Post by: michigancat on March 02, 2006, 09:13:11 AM
Is there any chance games will be available outside of the KS/KC market?

Only if the Big 12's rule changes..

Should have gone for a deal with ESPN+, the hypocrites in Dallas allow them to broadcast their games across the country...even though the rule states that no one can.

The good news is this...UT, A&M, Tech, etc...are all in the same boat as KSU...so there is a CHANCE this rule might get overturned.

So are CU, Nebraska and Baylor, I would guess.  It's always nice to have UT on your side.

I know NU is, and of those two, they are all that really matter, and to some extent, they don't...no Shuckers give two craps about bball...and that's what this deal is all about.

This is a seriously screwed up rule...

Isn't the restriction part of the Big 12's contract with ESPN and not really a "rule"....just poor negotiating of the major conference TV contract?

I hate the fact that every single K-State mens basketball game is not televised.

The FSN deal is awesome.

I haven't gone to about half the home games this year, because I can sit at home/BWW and watch.

No, there is a Big 12 Rule stating that third tier can only be broadcast within state areas and DMA's specific to that school.  Big 12 lets ku and ISU put their third tier games on Full Court because they don't want to hack off ESPN or ku.

I'm sure Ben Boyle can do a better job of explaining the mess to you, but it's crap.

I hear the tide may be changing on this ...

Plus I did the old address switcharoo last night and watched the game.

So, the address swith worked in Carolina?  If it works there, it should work anywhere...awesome...glad to hear it worked for you.

I've GOT to believe that with UT on our side, as well as pretty much everyone else...this will eventually get fixed..
