According to 610 radio, Big 10 officials are confident they can get those three to join. Seems kind of far-fetched to me.
-
So they're going to have 14 teams?
-
I guess so, they didn't say anything about anyone leaving the Big Ten.

Dude, 610 doesn't have any sources. They just make crap up, pretend it is true, and that's how they land a few listeners.
Total morons (make KK look like Einstein).

Colorado State

Colorado State
tcu (football anyway) :ohno:

Texas moves to the North division setting up a CTR game every year.
Win-win for the Big 12.

ku and Huskers aren't going anywhere. Mizz may jump but they have never been too bright. :-X

That's 610 in general. They struggle to get any respectable source to confide in, so they just make stuff up.

I didn't know BYU wants to join the Big XII...
http://myespn.go.com/s/conversations/show/story/4846268 (http://myespn.go.com/s/conversations/show/story/4846268)
BYU is and has been pushing to join the Big XII, it will be interesting to see if the Big XII would take BYU over tcu for the larger built in fanbase nation wide. I don't think uT, Baylor, Texas Tech, OU, Ok St., and Kan. St. want another team in the conference that close and making recruiting more difficult. If they add BYU it impacts none of that, and adds Cali as a new viable recruiting base.

:bump:
A bunch of scenarios are being talked about. Add one school (to 12), three (to 14) or five (to 16).
Among the talk is Nebraska, Missouri, Texas and Texas A&M from the Big 12. Could be none, could be one, could be any combination. I doubt if Texas or A&M goes without the other.
Some of the schools:

First off, I don't see Texas or Texas A&M. Colorado ? WTF ?
Secondly, where is Notre Dame ?
Thirdly, what happens to KSU ? Depending on how this plays out, it could be no change (Big 10 adds ND and that's it), or potentially breaking up the Big 12, or in between.
Post your thoughts...
-
ND would be the obvious pick but they aren't going to join when they currently have that huge TV contract. After ND, I think Pitt would be the next best fit and then probably MU. There is a 0% chance CU goes to the Big 10.
-
The only Big 12 North school that isn't a member of the Association of American Universities: K-State.
The only Big 12 South schools that are: Texas and Texas A&M.
-
Look out Mountain West, here we come!!
:flush:

Ok, in a flight of classless fantasy, here is what my "some-timer's" condition is pointing me towards:
Nubb, Mizzou, Tejas and A$M bolt for the Big 10 or 16 or whatever.
Colorado bolts for the Pac 10 or 14 or 16 or whatever.
Kansas bolts for some basketball league like the Big East or the ACC.
Oklahoma bolts for the SEC.
This leaves Iowa State, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, Baylor, Texas Tech.
The conference invites tcu, Wyoming and Colorado State to join a new Big 8.
Here are the rivalries:
ISU and KSU. Farmaggedon ! :Carl:
Oklahoma State and Baylor. Or maybe OSU and Texas Tech,
Texas Tech and tcu. Or maybe Baylor and tcu.
Colorado State and Wyoming. Border War ! :ohno:
I suppose Air Force or Rice or Houston or SMU or Missouri State or New Mexico or New Mexico State could be invited. :dunno:

Appalachian State
Butler
Slippery Rock
:baityes: :baityes: :cyclist: :ksu:

FWIW from my "sources"
texas and A&M are joined at the hip.
ku and KSU are a package deal, this might be the one time I was glad we had a little brother.
Dennis Dodd was talking about 4 super leagues of 16 or 20 teams. He did not think there was any way ku, ISU etc would get left out. I am not sure he thought that position through if there are 4, 16 team leagues. 4 20 team leagues and I think were are fine. Thank God, Frank has got the hoops program at a high level.

Here is a five team superconference scenario from Dodd. I don't think you would like the conference he's got you guys in.

I found the link, so no worries. Besides, this is what TP pays me to do. (Actually, I do this for the fun of it...)

It all makes sense, this is how you get to a wider football playoff. 8 team round robin (each plays one another) winner goes to playoff either intra- or inter-conference. Leaves 5 games that are meaningless and can be scheduled in whatever manner the coach chooses (i.e. if you wanna play patsies or load up, it doesn't matter), either need to go to 128 or 64 though.
-
easiest route to automatic playoff bid. imo
suck on that mizzou, texas, etc.
-
Wow, in that scenario, the Big 12 South kind of sucks relative to all the other Divisions....
