I was thinking Mack or Stoops, they came about the same time.  God I hope it's not bob stoops.

Mack was there in '98. Stupes came later as we all know.

If McCarney doesn't blow the last 2 seasons (and north titles) vs MU and ku then he's still coaching even with a bad year this year.  I suppose they thought we couldn't win the Big 12 north when it was mediocre, we underachieved with the best offense in the north this year with a lot of SRs, we might as well "rebuild" next year with a new coach.  I doubt ISU is able to get anyone better though.
