William and Mary

Location: Williamsburg, Va

Famous Alumni: Thomas Jefferson

History: Chartered on February 8, 1693, by King William III and Queen Mary II as the second college in the American colonies.

Last winning season: 1993

Same conference as George Mason.

Was 8-20 last year.

Returns 3 starters and most of their scoring, though will be playing a FR PG.

Supposedly want to be an uptempo team.

Coach is Tony Shaver who is 23-62 at the school after a solid tenure at Hampden-Sydney.

Beat D2 #2 ranked team in exhibition.

Best guards are Adam Payton (Vandy transfer, leading scorer with 20 in exhibition win) and Nathan Mann (from OP, KS); best post players is Corey Cofield (3 years starter) and  Laimis Kisielius (2nd leading score with 17 in exhibition win).  Frosh guard David Schneider scored 14 and led the team in rebounds, assists, and steals in exhibition win.

"Supposedly want to be an uptempo team. "

Hopefully their coach went to the same school of uptempo that wooly did going into last year.

Good link Rusty, I didn't see that one.  "The tribe has spoken".  Very original.  :)

I wonder what position Thomas Jefferson played for them?  Point guard?

Little conferences and their little love-fests are cute.

Back on subject:  Hoskins and/or Cartier should abuse a 3 guard lineup inside.

..if Cartier gets back to "playing shape".

Seriously, Saturday was Cartiers WORST game of his college career.  I haven't heard anything about Hoskins and how well he is feeling.  He gave it his all - hopefully he is 100% for this game.
