I totally blew it.  I got nuggets at Wendy's the other day and didn't realize they came in spicey.

pfft. That's nothing, I realized they had spicy nuggets and they even offered them to me but I still turned them down. Needless to say, my late night munchie binge was bland. Until I realized my mistake and I have worn a cilice for the past 3 days for my repentance.

Forgive me

OT: anyone else find the commercial with the guy eating a super tiny meal where the guy whispers "$2.99" incredibly hilarious?

yes indeed. have a buddy that works there, whenever he closes all the left over burgers and chicken come to he gets to take home. so that's kinda nice.

guys-

i've got an idea. cas-please weigh in here since you have the most experience with the spicy nuggets.

do a think a person could say, oh i don't know...go to their local hyvee and purchase a bottle of wing sauce and then go through the wendys drive through and get a couple 99 cent spicy nuggets and then go home and poor some of the wing sauce in a bowl and then the mikey for a couple of seconds to warm it up and then toss the spicy nuggets in the bowl and have their own boneless buffalo wings? because i think you could. i really f^cking think you could. also what soft drink would go best w/ this? tia.

One other thought that goes along with this excellent plan....you don't run the risk of mixing up your spicy nuggets with your kid's non-spicy.  'Cause like 80% of the time they spill out of the little containers into the bottom of the bag and then "BAM," you just mixed spicy with non-spicy.  :ohno:

QFT. I don't even think mine were cooked all of the way. :ohno:

Your best bet is to stay with the original 99 cent chicken nuggets IMHO.

It's always on a Wednesday night.  I think it's been in mid-May the last few years.  As a fan of functions where handles of hard liquor are left on a table in a free for all situation, I can assure you this would be an excellent pak.

between 0.99 do-it-yourself spicy wings and free "for all" hard liquor, it sounds like a bargain pak.  just need cas to offer to let pa'kers sleep it off in his barn, and it's golden.

absolutley. i honestly think all they do to the chicken nuggets that are "spicy" is pepper them. will ask wendy's buddy. but yes, normal 99 cent nuggets and some type of hot wing sauce would work quite well. as for soda, sd hit it with dr pepper. diet coke could also be substituted.

my barn is your barn. (don't have a barn, but figuratively speaking)

also the new hotel in scott city is quite ravishing.

Does the Scott City Wendy's try to compete with the Hays Wendy's for service speed?  I swear I could have been the only person in drive thru and they'd have my food waiting for me in the time I got from the speaker to the window every time.  Simply 'mazing place.

Caution:  Best Western's tend not to last in western Kansas.  They lose their franchise and become Abdul Inn's pretty quick.  See WaKeeney and Norton for just a couple of examples.

it's pretty quick. sometimes they fall a little behind in terms of food. like they don't have any chicken sandwiches ready, so that takes usually upwards of 4 minutes. but it's really worth the wait though. all in all service speed gets a B.

ok. just went and executed plan to perfection. went a little renegade on the drink though. mountain dew. don't ask. had a week moment and simply just messed up. hadn't had it in years, blah, blah, blah. did also get hooters brand hot sauce and then three of the 99 cent wendys spicy nuggets. they asked me if i wanted sauce and it kind of caught me off guard cause i already had my sauce. anyway i said sure and then was offered four different kinds of sauces. bbq, honey mustard, ranch and i think blue cheese. they all sounded gross so i ended up eventually declining. five nuggets to a pak. i tasted one before tossing the rest in a warmed up bowl of the hooters sauce. i actually thought it was somewhat spicy. i mean not hot or anything but decent. the chicken is kind of spongy chicken if you know what i mean. all in all i would say that if you are on a budget or really like spongy chicken then this is a pretty good deal. i will probably not do this again. thoughts/suggestions for dinner?

also can't wait for the nutpak. also, do you think i could bring some hot sauce and a bowl and then toss the nuts in the sauce or would this be frowned upon.

From what I saw, this would be just fine.  It's a very informal dinner.  You may want to bring a considerable amount of bowls and sauce though.  The Scott Citians tend to observe outsiders and their actions before being very open and warm and wanting to interact.  For example, there was a noticeable tension when they discovered Jeff was black AND not a KSU player, but eventually they got over it and were excited to have a new kind of person in their town.  I'd expect some curious looks as you work the sauce bowl for a while before cas or somebody breaks the ice and they all want some of that action.

From being a nutfry attender from years past, the best course of action is not to use any sauce on the nuts (they have a certain type of hot sauce that is designated for nuts). However, this is simply a IMO. I will say that the baked beans and cheesy potatoes are excellent. The sauce from your beans creates a very nice sauce for you.

And yes. The average age of the people at the fry is around 40 to 50 and for the most part they are your typical EMAW loving, mildly racist group. So that always creates a interesting vibe whenever there are black players or patrons there.

There is NO way it will be moved to a weekend.  Focus on making that wednesday work.  If it seems too distant for one night of pak'n, we could take a few days off and hit the entire western kansas circuit.  The Dodge and Garden events are always that same week.
