Title: Texas score predictions?
Post by: Andy on November 06, 2006, 07:20:13 PM
30-17 Texas

line is Texas by 17.5

ksu showed they can run the ball on a good run def (cu was only allowing around 90 yrds a game before last week) and over the past few weeks we're definitely starting to figure out how to score in the redzone.  I dont see why with a balanced attack and josh playing confidently we can't put together a couple of solid scoring drives.

the most points we've given up at home is 27 and we've played some good offenses like louisville, okla st, and nebraska.  no reason to believe texas will come in and steamroll us with 40+, especially since they haven't been world beaters on the road, nearly losing to nebraska (22-20) and tex tech (35-31).

there is some chance texas looks past us with a bye and tex A&M looming, plus they've locked up the south and realistically dont have a shot at a NC.  conversely though, we did get our 6th win and there is a school of thought that some teams are happy to qualify and thats it.  but i dont sense that from prince, i think he definitely goes all out like he did in the louisville game.

with any luck at all, like a def TD, or a long kickoff (we are currently #1 in kickoff returns in the nation) this game could still be undecided in the 4th...with the line sitting at 17.5, i think we at least cover that...

Go Cats!
