Ft. Lauderdale and Vegas are equally awesome, but for different reasons.  I like to gamble, so I'd pick Vegas first.  Travelworm.com is pretty good at getting cheap deals out there.  Get a travel guide from a bookstore or kindle for a bunch more tips, it's worth it.

The one regret of VegasPakrs was not getting the giant pak head back henna tattoo right away so it could be displayed all weekend.  By the time sd and I discovered the option, it was too late to get $30 of humor out of it.  You'll want to hit that up as soon as you arrive.  There's a place in the carnival part outside Harrah's that we'd recommend.  If you know how to negotiate, you'll be able to get the tattoo artists to tattoo the pak head on themselves as well.

We actually turned back at one point to go back and get them.  I was going to go with the full sized reproduction of the KatPak headcover on my chest so I could pull off my KatPak headcover shirt to reveal even more KatPak headcover.  We were going to spring them on J-Mart when we got back to the room.  As Trim says, if we'd known these were an option on the first day instead of the last it would have been glorious.

Oh, also

I went out there back in April to pick up a car I bought off of Ebay.  I stayed for a week and played a ton of poker (like almost nonstop).  The Venetian has a good poker room as does The Orleans especially if you like playing Omaha.  Even played a little bit with Scotty Nguyen (The Prince of Poker) at Harrah's.  But the one thing you absolutely have to do while you are out there is go see the classic car collection on the upper floor of Imperial Palace.  Be sure to bring your camera as you will want to get some photos.  Also go visit the Lamborghini dealership and the Ferrari dealership while you are there.  Well worth the time.  You just don't get to see multi-million dollar cars around here every day.  Some of those cars made me jizz in my shorts.

free guiness pints ftw.  Played a couple 7p Hold EM tournaments there too.

My gf and I like Bill's.  It's right between Bally's and Flamingo.  It is pretty small and doesn't have a ton of people in it all the time, so we like it.  They also have the cheapest Hold EM cash table on the strip at .50/$1 and only run two tables.  It is worth it for the entertainment.  Lot of douches come in, throw down 100-200 dollars and try to push like they own the place, then get upset and run off.

They have a chipotle north of Harrah's - we frequent this often.

steve dave has video of this.  Hopefully I didn't just expose his sock.

pufizzle, again I stress no matter what other good ideas come your way in this threat, make sure you get the pak tattoo first.

O'Sheas

Yes, but O'Sheas giant-lipped pissed-off dealer of Henderson descent.   :chainsaw:

I love O'Sheas.  Try the oxygen, best on the strip, IMO.  Also, a very good dance floor.

....just thought of another item...the large "cups" at the back bar are actually intended to be pitchers, not cups.  People will stare.

There are a lot of homeless running around.  One came right in, forced his self into the drink line to fill up his water bottle, then ran out before security got to him at the chipotle I mentioned earlier.

Also, lot of homeless hang out on the walking bridges.
