Title: Ferentz, SLTH?
Post by: BigCat on January 02, 2010, 09:36:02 PM
Always considered him a bum but hawk fans are pretty sure he's the best coach in the country. They say things like, "to accomplish what he has with the talent in place?" and "just give him time." I told them I had always hated Iowa and thought Ferentz was a joke. And that did not go over well. Hawk fans bemoan how nobody wants to come to Iowa but that Kirk is doing a super great job despite not being able to recruit to Iowa City. Hawk fans do have great respect for Snyder and KSU, which I would not have expected.

they have plenty of talent, they are always top 25.  They just don't pull Mich/OSU talent.    Run the ball and play D.  But KF is way overpaid.

keep in mind, snyder was an assistant under the great Hayden Frye at the beginning, so of course they love him.

He's in a BCS bowl.  And it's not his first.  He's not the best coach in the country, but he's definitely not a bum.

:dunno:

The first post in this thread redefines fail.

Ferentz has taken Iowa to 2 BCS bowl games.

Ferentz is a very good coach, probably top 10 in the country. He's had down years every now and then just like any program that doesn't have the resources of a USC, tOSU, Florida, etc. but he still manages to coach above the level of the talent he has on the field.
