Title: How many ways is Texas Tech going to get hammered on this?
Post by: windjammer on December 31, 2009, 12:30:49 AM
1) Leach will win several aspects of his lawsuit

2) Season ticket sales will plummet over several years

3) Recruiting will take a nose dive for several years

4) Who in the hell is going to want to coach at a school that treats their personnel in this manner?

etc

predict they will respond by overpaying an underqualified, unsuccessful mid-major coach hoping to make a statement about the direction of the program.

At first, I was miffed that we have them off the schedule for the next two years.....typical timing for us, right?  But, the silver lining of this is that we get the dregs of their recruiting and don't have to deal with a team completely full of the Leach leftovers.

They already weren't good in the first place. It didn't take the HD cameras in our game vs. them to see that the place was almost 1/2 empty. It's actually a miracle that with the fan support in Lubbock that Leach stayed there for ten years. It takes a weird man to want to stay in Lubbock and coach (especially for that long). Leach & TT were the perfect fit...

Thank god for Adam James. :woohoo:

Leach was too smart to leave.  It would take 3-4 rough years tom implant his system again.  He had everything he needed in Lubbock, and a dream season that brought him all of the bargaining chips he needed.  Too bad the James family &@#%ed everything up for him.

Again, keep in mind Texas Tech had no qualms hiring Bobby Knight to run its basketball program.  But Mike Leach is too much for them.  GMAB.

Tech made a monumental mistake. It seems like a similar situation that Marty had with the Chargers GM in that they couldn't get a long so the GM fired him, or in this case, the AD. Tech needed any possible reason to find one and they got it. Now, they will make a Turner Gil type hire and severely overpay some scrub. They will become Baylor II. I wouldn't be surprised if aTm hires Leach or even Baylor if they hire Baylors coach away. While I have wet dreams of Leach taking over for OB, it won't happen, so I'm not going to get my hopes up. I can see Tech make a push for G. Patterson but fail.

Season ticket sales, Bowl Games, decent public perception outside of Lubbick are gone. Welcome to the bottom of the Big XII South.

Why is everyone so upset about this.  Leach is/was a dickhead.  KSU could not beat a Leach coached team.  Everyone should be rejoicing.

ESPN Radio yesterday was reporting that Tommy Tubberville was openly lobbying for the job.

TT has been openly lobbying for the job at our front gate as well.  Apparently TT needs to get out of the house.

This whole story has been amazing. I read the emails.

I hope, for TT sake -- The TT legal team is smarter than the chancellor, AD and Jim Sowell.

They are going to need to settle on this and quick.

On another note... Anyone want to put a wager on an o/U date for Craig James firing?
