Today was like any other day. I read ksu boards and laugh a little. I read ksu boards and learn a little. All was good and normal until just a second ago when sonofdaxjones pissed me off with one too many swipes at the Legend.
I'm tired of people taking swipes at the Legend. I am now going to stand up for the Legend in the best way I can using internet capabilities. Maybe this is the epitomy of being a Powertad or whatever, but there's just some things you can't do.
Sonofdaxjones, Cireksu, Wabashroll and several other of you "cool" guys are cancers living amongst us. You guys are the Rashard Jacksons of the bunch. The Chris Boggas' too.

FWIW, I blame Krause/Weefs for just about everything.

Kick their asses Steve (great name btw)

If I agreed any more, my head would spin and I would become one with you.
So, I'll just stay where I'm at and agree a whole bunch with this statement.

Suck my not too old balls

It's very teenager-ish to take swipes at the Legend. There's got to be some biblical reference or old wives tale, where the moral of the story says "don't talk crap on the people who raised you."
Cire just made a smart assed comment referencing the Legend's age. That's the type of stuff I'm talking about. Sonofdaxjones made one earlier about people mistakingly thinking the Legend works 18 hours a day and him being lazy during those 18 hours.

Good friends constantly make fun of eachother. We make fun of him a goodnatured way. He's old, so we make fun of it. Just like I dont get mad when people make fun of me for being good looking and/or hilarious. 8-)

One bowl game in six years will do that to a fanbase, Steve. They're angry.
-
I mostly have issues with his staff and their recruiting.
The recruiting is what concerns me too.
Snyder can flat out coach and anyone who thinks otherwise is a complete idiot or has their head crammed so far up their rear they can't see.
In conference play, we moved the ball against every team we played with the exception of Tech (yes, we moved the ball against Missouri and Nub too, just couldn't convert). Against OU we marched up and down the field with Grant Gregory as our starting QB; think about that one for a minute.
The key will be can Snyder continue to recruit and at a high enough level to have us competing for the league championship like we once used to. I'm not expecting recruiting classes like we hauled in in '98 just yet, but with time and if we continue to win, that should be the expectation.

Agree with BMW on this
-
OBz is "gettin' the old band back together" that's what pisses me off - dude either doesn't posess the concept that we flat out sucked when he retired OR he never realized it; either way we basically have the same crappy assistants who couldn't recriut then and nothing has changed. With the talent we are attracting we could hit a ceiling pretty darned quick. And THAT will suck.
-
Steve...do like this middle-aged, balding fat guy does...
Come over here...get some laughs, read some of the crap that the angry fans have to spew...and let it go...
Or...just don't come here...it's your choice.
It's not worth getting worked up over... :cyclist:

Love what you did here, Steve. :katpak:

Steve, take this anger and use it on the basketball board :curse: :angryMJ:

I agree with this. Even though we screwed the pooch against mizzou and nubb by not challenging them. also falls on coaches.

Just to be clear, by "Legend" are you referring to the poster on this site with the screen name of "Legend?" 'Cause that person hates me and stuff. Told Terry to "take out the garbage," and it was pretty darn clear that Legend was implying that I was the "garbage."
Assuming that you are talking about Bill Snyder, I guess a lot of the consternation with Bill comes from the paradox that he's may be the best BCS coach when it comes to X's and O's and the worst BCS coach when it comes to recruiting. Part of dismal recruiting is his complete inability to maintain a high quality staff. There are only 2 AC's on our staff that any other team in the Big 12 would want....Dickey and Joe Bob (doubt anyone would want him now that Mangino is gone, but I'll leave him on the list anyway). But hey, his X's and O's are the bee's knees.

Do plurals also require the addition of an "R"?

Oh man, that guy hates me as well. Seems kinda angry about people not respecting Bill Snyder enough. Would probably enjoy this thread actually.

True, but 17-10 certainly helped. Fun seeing all 500 ku fans that made it to the game walking out looking like idiots. It was awesome saying, "5-7 Awaits" to those morons.

I am not a sock. Why would I pick a name like Steve, that so closely resembles the name of the most frequent poster on this site? I just got tired of people throwing Snyder under the bus to appear cool to others.
* He took over this team and had them fighting for a big 12 championship. They were a gawd damned rag tagged bunch of misfits out there. He had them fighting a season long up hill battle and that's not good enough for some of you clowns.

Steve, thanks for your post. It's about time someone on this site stood up for Coach Snyder. Notice I calld him "Coach Snyder". Not Old Balls or Snyds or Snydlie or whatever nicnames some of the gradeschoolers on this site have given him. It's a shame that some on here can only see the bad in everything.

my god, could this thread get any more fantastic?

coach em up coach william snyder :cyclist:

So, where is this Steve guy now? Looks like he made his little rant and then ran for the hills. There's nothing Bill Snyder hates more than that.
-
Chum1- I'm right here. I'm always here. All I needed to do was to get that off my chest. I just turned 31 and am learning the ways of the blue haired man. Part of that is to learn that teenagers will do what they want. I have more learning to do I guess, because some teenagers got the best of me yesterday.
I've been here since the Willie Nelson concert in the rain. I was here during Phil Bennett speaches for pregame. I suffered through Prince. And I sure as crap, welcomed the Legend back to the podium.
-
LOL . . . my comment about Snyder working 18 hours had nothing to do with being lazy, it had nothing to do with the man's intelligence.
I just get tired of all the Powertards who instantly roll out the, "oh Coach Snyder will fix it" . . . "Coach Snyder works 18 hours a day so all is well with the world, whatever the problems are in those 18 hours Coach Snyder will get it fixed."
Yet, what do we know so far. Well, 1. Snyder and this staff still can't recruit for $hit. Yet another complete whiff on the quarterback front, and NO, a coaches son running a chuck and duck offense in Maryland does not count (oh, and for the Powertards, I think the kid could be pretty good if Snyder actually builds an offense around him to suit his strengths, but that's another thing . . . Bill loves him too much option, and zone reads and all that stuff to ever build an offense around a chuck and duck style QB . . . the days of, "well Coach Snyder can adapt his offense around any talent" have come and gone, that ended in about 1998 with the Michael Bishop era . . . Snyder's offense became the offense of the dual threat, running QB).
2. There's still plenty of other evidence that indicates that unlike what the Powertards said again and again (even me). He still hasn't learned his "lesson" on what some aspects of college football 2009-2010-2011 are all about in terms of many off the field issues.
I get tired of the people who want to make Bill Snyder bigger than Kansas State University. The man's last 3 seasons at K-State he's gone 15-19 with ZERO bowl games.
By every possible measure he completely FAILED to capitalize on the 2003 Big 12 Championship.
-
The man's last 3 seasons at K-State he's gone 15-19 with ZERO bowl games.
Oh, I suppose you could do better Dax? How many D0Ds have you coached? If our recruits and record at the end of the season are good enough for The Legend they are good enough for me.
-
steve, will you be as excited as i am going to be when coach william snyder introduces new associate defensive coordinator robert lipscomb. he'll be great on the recruiting trail compared to vic.

What does it mean when Boise can have the 77th rated class according to Rivals, yet finish in the top 10 almost every year? Boise isn't luring in the top notch talent that Alabama is, but they're putting together impressive seasons backtobacktoback. They coach up every player. They have great assistants and a solid program that allows them to coach up every player. Coach Snyder had this process in place. Coach was never getting top 20 classes in recruits. His assistants maximized every players ability. When the Coaching well dried up and imploded in 2004, crap hit the fan and he had 2 bad seasons. Throw in a 2.5 year amount of Princes' crap and it looks like a long drought.
It's the assistants, not Snyder. Snyder's loyalty to horsecrap coaches can be blamed. But not Snyder as a whole.
-

To be fair (and I'm right with your kicking the f^ck out of these negative nancys) you can't seperate the two. :ohno:

It's funny that this has somehow turned into a legitimate discussion.

I'm curious to know what you meant by "snyder hasn't adapted to the off field issues in 2009,2010 and 2011." paraphrasing....
What does this mean exactly? Lockerrooms like Oregon? Cheating in a more futuristic manner? Using computers and technology more? I'm just curious what that statement meant.
He's adopting the approach of more younger GA type of coaches. We've never had this many former players working behind the scenes. Who would have thought Kyle Williams would be our best recruiter and we aren't even paying the dude.
I'll give you the apparent whiff on the QB situation. It appears that we put all our eggs in the Newton basket. I have to believe that Snyder is more than confident in the abilities of Lamur or Harper or even Cosh for 2011. Snyder's one major downfall has been the QB recruit strikeouts. Very painful and telling of something in his inabilities to lure a top notch QB prospect. But, for this year I have to believe, that Snyder has 100% confidence in a QB currently on our roster.
I'd like to know your opinion on Del Miller too, Dax. Besides giving me the canned response of he's old.....white haired, boring....... Del Miller might be the Wizard behind the curtain of our offense. Think about how well we schemed some teams this year. Our rag tagged bunch of misfits, led by a lizard necked QB, outplayed many teams this year. Del is that reason.

Steve is the kind of poster that will leave as soon as things aren't going his way. When someone like Bill Snyder faces the music, someone like Steve runs for the hills.
Nailed it.

Chum1- what couldn't go my way? Are you referring to me being called names or "pawned" on a message board, or things not going my way with life in general?
I discovered this site not too long ago, but I've frequented KSU innernets for awhile. The only thing I've nailed is fans like you acting teenager-ish and disrespecting people who created your existence.

OMG, f^ck teenagers! Steve is what ksufans.com has been missing all these years. Finally someone to tell those little bastards to get off our lawn (ksufans.com being the lawn) and turn down their loud rock music (not liking The Legend being their loud rock music).

The only socks I wear are my standard argyle ones to match my sweater of choice. What if I type using sanitary gloves during my smoke breaks? I guess those could be considered hand socks of sorts....
One other thing to clarify, I don't really believe the median age on here to be teenager-ish. I only mean the collective demeanor. Also, I love this site and constantly find myself agreeing with a lot of you dudes.
I'm a Gopowercat lifer who has started to branch from the herd.
