Title: Luke Winn (ESPN)
Post by: dobbie4ksu on December 27, 2009, 01:06:13 AM
Probably been posted already but this is my first time to get through the board in a few days...

Kansas State Wildcats (11-1)
More Pullen Beards: Wildcats junior Jacob Pullen is having a career year; his three-point percentage (43.6) is up more than 10 points from last season, and his scoring average (20.0) is up 6.1 points as well. I attribute the breakout to his beard, a chinstrap sort of thing that extends out of a chop. Pullen played his first two years beard-free and failed to shoot higher than 33.5 percent from long range. Perhaps growing similar facial hair would be the cure for backcourt mate Denis Clemente's shooting malaise? He's hitting just 30.0 percent of his treys, his worst clip since his freshman year at Miami. It might be time to go beyond a goatee.

Next three: 12/29 vs. Cleveland State, 1/3 vs. South Dakota, 1/9 at Missouri

Then there's this from Andy Katz from ESPN.....

Hidden gem: Jacob Pullen, Kansas State
The junior guard has been on a tear of late, making 7 of 10 3s (28 points) in a road win at UNLV and 6 of 9 3s (30 points) in a win against Alabama in Mobile. Pullen is averaging 20 points a game and shooting 43.6 percent on 3s.

Luke was tipped off on the EMAW by our very own Jeff Martin.  Luke's now a friend of the program, so to speak.

pullen +11% on road this year in 3pt.  UNLV and UT games are biggest outliers though and prolly causes this difference.
