Title: The U (30 for 30)
Post by: Kat Kid on December 13, 2009, 03:45:32 PM
Made me extremely jealous.  Can you imagine having a rap superstar and a stable of homegrown NFL talent bankrolling your program?  Cut those moronic car dealership booster types right out of the equation!

I propose that EMAW makes it official, adopts Houston as our sister city and sends Mike Jones out as our recruiting/cultural liason.

Mike needs follow up album relevance like Tiger Woods needs a time machine and EMAW needs a foothold in the belly of the beast.  With AA/DFW one can only assume that H-town is next.

Let's get rowdy, let's go dirrty South.

We need to hire a football 'Te and get a rubber band man in place.  And if I see Dell Miller this off-season I'm going to vomit on his Christmas sweater and stomp on his dress up shoes. :steadymobbin':

Oh yeah, real jelous of them having a bunch of retard gangsters completely embarrasing what was a classy university.   Miami is a Joke, what Bill Snyder did at KSU is a far better accomplishment than that miami joke, where are they now?

I had to LOL at that game where they played Texas, smoked them, and kept getting personal fouls just because they hated Texas and everything they stood for

It was an awesome special by ESPN.  Very awesome.  Also, created an amazing amount of jealously on my end as well.

I wish Snyder wanted to win as much as Warden Tom and The U.  I mean if Omaha had some rappers I think NU might've put together some kind of dynasty like the U.  Just didn't really work out for you guys.

Actually, it was pretty surprising.  A 2 hour documentary of Miami and no Ray Lewis.

They only really chronicled up until the mid 90's when they got put on probation. Lewis got there right when they were getting off probation 95-99 or something like that.

It wasn't for a lack of trying.  They just couldn't out recruit Miami so they tried to out steroid them.

The U has to be my second favorite football school. I love the program. I love the brashness, the cockiness and the confidence. I would love it if we ran our program like this. I would want everyone to hate us and not to be able say a damn thing about it because all we would have to say is scoreboard and walk away.

It's is such a different level there though.  I'm talking about the kinship between the fans and players.  Almost all their players came from the Miami area.  So they actuall "knew" each other.  More like high school than college.

The cotton bowl vs UT was hilarious.

The 2001 team had ... 16... 1st round draft picks.  That's insane.

Possibly the best CFB team of all time.

LOL no. They needed a late interception to beat Boston College. And didn't they almost lose to VA Tech?

1995 Nebraska was never tested.

Actually, you're right. That Nub was arguably the best team ever.  That 01 U team lacked depth, but on the top end, they were unreal as evidenced by the draft picks.

Quote
Portis, McGahee, Najeh Davenport, Frank Gore, Andre Johnson, Bryant McKinnie, Jeremy Shockey, Kellen Winslow II, Roscoe Parish, Jerome McDougle, William Joseph, Vince Wilfork, Jonathan Vilma, DJ Williams, Sean Taylor, Phillip Buchanan, Vernon Carey, Eric Winston, Ed Reed, and Antrel Rolle.

That's some serious talent.

JFC, those aren't just role players in the NFL either, there's several HOF's and a dozen or so pro-bowlers.

1995 Nebraska would've been absolutely dominated by 1998 KSU.  Unreal how quickly NU became irrelevant.

That option I-back crap is hilarious.  What a bunch of huckleberry plumbers, insurance agents and used car salesman.

Meanwhile Miami has an entire drug trade that provides the backing for its recruiting visits and weight room.

miami was the only school that realized there is no limit to the number of souls you have available for sale.  props to them

The U in the 80's reminded me of us Hawks in 07', what freakin domination.  I'm pretty sure I did hear about some documentary of the Dream Season in 07' in the works.
