why do big 12 fans continually whine about it??
Because there are 10 schools in the XII who only get on ABC if they are playing UT or OU, generally. And FSN is kind of a joke. And Versus is totally a joke.

Every one of your games is on tv in the Big 10 because they have the fracking Big 10 network. We need a Big 12 network.
-
Serious question. What is preventing the Big 12 from having their own network? Is it the fact that it would not make money, laziness from the Big 12 front office, current tv contracts that won' allow it to happen? Anyone know?

I'd rather have it on tv and start at 11:00 than have to listen to Wyatt and Stan the whole game.

UMASS, La-la, and Tenn. Tech. That's 3 to many for me. We were lucky all of our conference game were televised. There were some Big 12 matchups that weren't.

none of those games should be televised. get your ass to the game.
i'd like all big 12 games to be televised, but only a very small handful weren't. and we are in the middle of nowhere, so we don't have the clout the big 10 does.

VS has improved a lot. I now prefer it to FSN. Not to mention that beautiful HD :lick:

the difference between the SEC and Big 12 everyone else??
That is the real issue. Ingram won that award partially due to 'Bama's games being nationally televised throughout the season. How many games did most of the country see Suh or Gerhart play? Not many...

honest to god, this is such boulsh*t. NU was on national TV PLENTY of times. Ingram was hardly a household name, and won it because alabama was awesome this year.
Big 12 gets tons of national TV games.

The reason Ingram won...
The way the Heisman vote shook out showed a few things. 1) The East Coast bias that West Coast types cry and whine about might have actually been an issue. 2) No one knew what to do with Ndamukong Suh (my No. 1 pick on the ballot), 3) 203 voters who chose Colt McCoy first had something better to do than watch the Oklahoma or Nebraska games, the two biggest of the year for the Longhorns, 4) 43 voters are in love with Tim Tebow no matter what actually happened on the field this season, and 5) Mark Ingram won the Heisman, but it's not like anyone outside of Alabama is jumping for joy over this.
Ingram had a nice season. Not a phenomenal season, not really a Heisman-caliber season, but a nice season. Since Tebow and Florida stunk it up in the SEC Championship, McCoy was awful in the Big 12 Championship, and no one East of the Mississippi saw Toby Gerhart outside of the Notre Dame game, Ingram became the default winner. The Someone-Had-To-Win winner.

The production that VS puts together is much better FSN. I actually like both of those compared to ABC because ABC does the regional coverage crap and Phoenix is not in Big 12 coverage area.

Thanks for the link...
The point it makes regarding Gerhardt really only being watched on national TV across the country once (ND game) has some application to Suh's case as well. How many NU games did the entire nation receive (and watch)?
Mizzou, Texas, us....anyone else? Granted better than Gerhardt and Stanford, but in a year with no clear winner this stuff matters, IMO

NU was on national TV five times.
They were on split national ABC twice as well.
What else do you want? People just love to complain.

What's the deal with NU?? Suh is a fracking Lineman. Reason #1 he didn't win.

Yes, this is why he didn't win. If Suh played for the Gators of Tide would he have received more votes is my question?

There was talk about having a Big XII/Big East network at one time.
Either way, get every game on TV or stream it on the intertubes. I'd pay $60 a year for HQ streaming.

Uh, lack of money flowing in compared to other conferences. Lack of consistent air time to schools. All dictated by UT, aTm, OU, and NU.

I think ku and MU over the last couple years have proven that if you win a lot of games, you'll get your games on national TV by the time of year that these things matter. TV had nothing to do with Suh and Gerhert not winning the Heismen...it had everything to do with the two of them playing football at schools that haven't won anything for a decade or more.
I, for one, am pretty damn pleased with the Big XII tv situation. It seems to be getting better every year and should we ever play decent non-con games, I am fairly sure they'll make it to TV as well.
