$2.5MM + contract to $1.0-1.5MM coaches, it looks like all it is going to do is get a bunch of guys raises and extension to stay where they are at. Thanks for contributing to the escalation salary problem in college FB Lew. What a complete and total slimebag doucher he is.

yeah, they're going to be overpaying someone a lot of money.

Bronco Mendenhall makes like $600,000 a year. Why haven't they thrown a bunch of money at him?

He did that with Mangino so I guess why would we expect anything different. :dunno:

The question is, where are they getting this endless supply of money. Did Tom Kavisto make another pledge to the university?

Using the up front donations for the Grid Club that will never be built.

May be bringing back the $75 family 4 pack season ticket.

They use post dated checks. Based on their list of big time donors, there's no way they have a nickel in the coffers.
Reminds me of an old Simpson's episode. Some tax collector or something comes to Simpson's house and tells Homer he owes him $2000. Homer says something to the tune of, "c'moooonn!!!, I don't have that kind of cash!". Guy replies, "can't you write a check?". Homer sheepishly giggles, says "oh of course, a check. . . I thought you wanted money. . ."

because without the lure of money...why in the hell would a proven commodity take a career risk on coaching at Kansas?...a school that has improved greatly and has some good talent but is still looking to climb over the hump of winning the Division, and Conference in football. NU, KSU, and MU are all looking pretty formidable for 2010.
Its just a bad time right now imho for ku to make any significant moves beyond what Mangino had already accomplished...which is back to back bowls, a BCS bowl win, and a nice string of victories against Kstate.
-
You under estimate ku's ability to steal $$$ guys. Aren't kavisto & wittig still on the street instead of prison where they belong? I'm sure those two can steal 10-20 million+ from unsuspecting people for slimy lew and his cheating athletic program.

but...but....but... they have these wonderful facilities, a ton of $$$(and willing to spend it), the best AD, and a top ranked BB team. Why would anybody not want to coach there?

Tom Kavisto is probably headed to the jailhouse, via the poorhouse. He's a crook and no longer has his company. . .
