Title: Bringing This Topic Back
Post by: WildcatNkilt on December 08, 2009, 12:16:49 PM
I strongly feel this is worth bringing up again.  We (Kansas State University/OB's) needs to hire Mr. Mark Mangino (M^3) as OC.  I don't want to see the guy take a year off while living in Lowrents, (not going into public to avoid scrutiny) and gaining weight to an unhealthier level.

Bring him in, let him regain his mojo while kicking ass at KSU.  Then in a couple years or so if he wants he can go back out and look for a head coaching gig again.

Anyone who denies M^3 of being a great coach has LFBIQ.

A couple of questions:
1.  Would bringing in Mangino cross wires with someone we value on the existing staff?
2.  Mangino is a top-flight evaluator of talent, and has a knack for seeing things in players that other overlook. A very underestimated quality of Mark Mangino, IMO.
3.  Is OU going to offer him a job?

TIA

Good points.  Key concern would be his relationship with current staff.  OU might want to offer him a job, but I'm not sure if they have a position for him.  Correct me if I'm wrong, but we have had a position open since Ludwig bailed.  I would be happy to see a demotion of our current "CO O Coordinators."

Will never happen.  Too many big donors are powertards and hold grudges over the past.

I wouldn't be surprised to see him pop up at OU if he works in the near future.

Wouldn't be surprised if his settlement agreement forbids this.
