I cannot wait for you guys to see this video.  It's off the chain.  Bo grabs some guy in a suit (replay supervisor according to NE retard media guy) and verbally blows his head off.  Local NU media just rolling with it and accepting that NU got screwed.  In total meltdown mode.

There was clearly time still left on the clock when the ball was chucked out of bounds . . . any retard could see that.

There was 3 seconds left when the ball crossed the out of bounds line, and at least 1 second left when it finally hit the ground.

Looks like SD found the dumbass cornhole fan to bite.

Title: Re: Bo Pelini Quotes (clown coach)
Post by: steve dave on December 06, 2009, 06:13:04 AM
Quote
Pelini marched off the field, advanced a few steps into the dark tunnel. Then he turned back toward the euphoric Texas celebration at midfield.
His emotions burst.
“You should be ashamed to accept that trophy!” the NU defensive coordinator yelled, pointing at the Longhorns.

“You outta be ashamed to accept that trophy!” he screamed again, then again.

Quote
But he heard about a conflict at the threshold of the tunnel. Seemed a Texas fan and somebody from NU had exchanged words.
Bo marched toward the scene. Who was it? Bo wanted to engage the Texas fan.
Told nothing happened, he went back toward the locker room, where he saw Marc Boehm, NU assistant athletic director.
“Marc, I want to see (Big 12 head of officiating) Walt Anderson in there right (expletive) now!” Pelini shouted.
“BCS!” Pelini said as he entered the locker room. “That's why they make that call!”

Quote
Originally, the clock expired, sending a flood of Nebraska players onto the field. But a review changed that call, led to Texas' game-winning kick and sent the Pelinis into madness.
According to Dan Beebe, Big 12 commissioner, officials did the right thing.
According to Walt Anderson, officials did the right thing. Where was the clock when the ball hit something out of bounds?
“There was a second left,” Anderson said.
But nothing or nobody could convince Bo Pelini.
“I want an explanation!” Pelini yelled outside his locker room.
Standing in that tunnel quietly watching him: Harvey Perlman, Paul Meyers, Eric Crouch.
“Get Coach Osborne down here!” Pelini said. “Can you go get Coach Osborne?”
Minutes later, Athletic Director Tom Osborne walked slowly toward the locker room in black trench coat. He entered the double doors to meet Pelini.
From outside the doors, one word could be heard loudest: “Cheaters!”
Then Osborne strode back to the field, where Texas was wrapping up its trophy presentation. En route to midfield, Osborne said to a World-Herald reporter: “Where is Dan Beebe?''
Beebe was standing at the 40-yard line talking to Assistant Commissioner Ed Stewart, a former Nebraska All-America linebacker.
As Osborne reached Beebe, the commissioner extended his hand. But Osborne didn't shake it. Osborne pointed at Beebe and said, “Would you go see Bo? Right now?''
By then, Nebraska Chancellor Harvey Perlman had come on to the field. Perlman and Osborne walked with Beebe off the field and down a stadium tunnel.
The three exchanged no words on the walk. Down the tunnel, Osborne walked three steps in front of Beebe and Perlman walked to Beebe's right.
As Osborne walked, The World-Herald asked if Nebraska would appeal any part of the game. His answer: “I don't know.''
Beebe went immediately to the post-game press conference and waited for Pelini.
Pelini lightened up a bit during the question-and-answer session. He even cracked a joke. But when he left, Osborne called to him.
“Bo! Bo! Dan Beebe's here.”
Beebe suggested he and Pelini talk in private. They walked into a quiet area near some shiny SUVs, 100 feet from anyone else. Yet Bo and the occasional curse word could still be heard.
Osborne watched the meeting with Pelini's brother, Vince.
Time ran out, Vince told him. They took it from us, Vince said.
Osborne, whose facial expression never changed, calmed him: “I've been on both ends.”
Pelini's meeting with Beebe lasted just a couple of minutes.
Beebe wouldn't reveal the details of his conversation with Pelini — “That's between he and me” — but Beebe said he understood why Pelini was upset.
At that point, Beebe hadn't seen the controversial play, but he'd been on the phone with Big 12 staff, who said officials got it right by adding one second to the game clock.
“I'll be more comfortable when I can see it,” Beebe said.
Any concern the call is perceived as conspiratorial?
No, Beebe said. From the reports he'd heard, “there was time when the ball hit the ground.”

I was watching it in a bar and the consensus of everyone there was that there was still at least 1 second left and the vast majority of the people had no dog in the hunt at all.   Even the guys who were playing some over/under parlay or something like that who needed the score to say the same said there was at least 1 second left.

Has a coach ever embarassed themselves and their program more?  He is 100x more of a crybaby than he was when he cried to Snyder 5 years ago.  He makes Mangino look like a sophisticated English gentleman.

The officials corrected the clock operators obvious mistake and he blames the BCS?  Geez, what a pvzzy.

The voters should do what the Big 12 game officials didn't have the guts to do.

That is, put Texas Christian (or Cincinnati, for that matter) into the BCS national championship game.

It's too bad it won't happen. The referees have an excuse: They work for the Big 12 Conference, which desperately needed Texas to avoid an upset by Nebraska.

The voters have no excuse. They still get to choose among undefeated teams to put in the national championship game against Alabama. But chances are, they will choose Texas.

Four times over the years, the Big 12 has screwed itself out of the national title game with a huge upset in the conference championship game. They weren't going to allow that to happen again, no matter how dominant Ndamukong Suh was for Nebraska.

Look, I don't hate the Longhorns. And I don't root for tcu, or Cincinnati ... or Nebraska. I don't hate the BCS, and I don't necessarily even crave a playoff tournament.

But that ending of the Big 12 championship game was just wrong.

Here's exactly what happened: There were 24 incomplete passes in the Texas-Nebraska game. On every one of them — every single one (I know, I went back and checked in slow motion) — the game clock ticked off that second, and sometimes another. That's how it always works in this and every other game: There's a bit of a human element (the eye sending the message to the brain, the brain relaying it to the finger on the clock button, the electronic impulses prompting the clock to stop).

And so, when Colt McCoy inexplicably decided to run a play with six seconds remaining instead of calling timeout or, well, showing any sense of urgency, he rolled out and threw the ball away, way out of bounds, as the clock ticked down to 0:00.

Nebraska rushed the field, Bo Pellini's team seemingly in possession of a sensational 12-10 triumph.

But since Texas coach Mack Brown wanted a second placed back on the clock, and because the Big 12 wanted to have a second placed back on the clock, and because all of the six major BCS conferences HAD TO HAVE a second placed back on the clock, and because the referees figured they might never have a chance to work for the league ever again if they do this wrong ... that's how it went.

So, unlike every other similar play in the game, the officials overruled the clock and put 0:01 back up on the scoreboard, and Texas ran the field goal team out there and Hunter Lawrence kicked it through.

So, since the refs felt the need to overrule the clock, the voters can always overrule the game officials. It ain't right: Texas has no business being in the title game.

If the refs are so hell bent on giving Texas a win, why do they wait until the very end to do it?  And why would they give Nebraska any calls earlier in the game?

Nailed it.  The clock shouldn't have been allowed to tick down to 0.  Human error that was corrected.  The rest is just whiny window dressing.

Nebraska grad who works at Hy-Vee off of North Oak is wearing a black arm band with his red shirt today.  Said program died in his eyes last night when Bo whined like a woman in labor.

I felt bad for the dude, he is a good fan and an alum who gives a lot to the school.

Guess he's not one of the fans calling in death threats to their kicker then.  What a disgusting fan base.  He's just a kid people!

I watched the second half of the game last night and I could not believe how poor texas's clock management was at the end of the game. Bottom line, texas was very lucky to win, but after seeing the pass about 50 times on espn there was definitely 1+ seconds left on the clock when the ball hit the ground. Have to give it up to the texas place kicker for hitting a 46 yd FG at an angle.

nu fans be proud of your team, they played well enough to win but in the end texas did just enough to win. You were not screwed, but I do think nu outplayed texas. Texas made just enough plays, and nu made 2 key mistakes in the final drive to allow(kick oob & horse collar) the shorthorns off the hook.

There was 1 second left when the ball hit. That was clear. Nebraska got a shot just like that in the 94 orange bowl and missed it. There should be no complaints from the fans on that.

Texas should have never been in that position. The Huskers screwed up. Much like Gary Barnett did in Lincoln a few years back.

I heard a coach a few years back that said in year 1 you lose big, in year 2 you lose close, in year 3 you win close and in year 4 you win big. I kinda hope we skip year 3 and just jump into winning big next year, these close games are killing me.

The whole thing with Pelini reminds me of the end of Trading Places with Eddie Murphy and Dan Aykroyd.

"Turn those machines back on! Get those brokers back in here! We own the exchange! We founded it!"

"I am Bo Pelini! Nebraska discovered football! You can't make the right call there!"

Shout it out: Texas a deserving No. 2
Nebraska coach Bo Pelini is left livid after a review gives the Longhorns a second chance to win the Big 12 title. But the call is correct, and Texas deserves a BCS title shot.
Dave Curtis

Bo Pelini is livid after the game, claiming the final decision was made for the BCS.
ARLINGTON, Texas -- Sophomore Terrence Moore led the men in red up the field and into the tunnel. At the locker room door, Moore yelled an obscenity, and then tried to slam his Nebraska helmet through the concrete floor.

So began a minute-long parade of Cornhuskers wrath and fury, and, well, it was a bad night to be the Nebraska locker room door here at Cowboys Stadium. The guys on the sour side of Saturday night's 13-12 Big 12 championship game were ticked off that the Texas Longhorns, and not them, were dancing on the turf. And perhaps no one fumed as much as the Pelini brothers, who weren't shy about showing the world how they felt.

"I want to see Walt Anderson right now!" Nebraska coach Bo Pelini screamed, referencing the Big 12's coordinator of football officials.

A few minutes later, peeking out to a celebrating set of Longhorns, defensive coordinator Carl Pelini said, "They ought to be ashamed to accept the trophy."

And last, Coach Bo channeled former Kansas coach Mark Mangino's thoughts about a controversial pass interference call against Texas a few years back. "The BCS!" he screamed from just inside the locker room. "That's why they made that call!"

Those thoughts will echo through Lincoln, Neb., until the end of time. Similar sentiments will dominate church foyers and sports bars Sunday in Cincinnati and Fort Worth, Texas, and probably Norman, Okla., too.

Colt McCoy played far from his best game, but he led Texas to the win and a chance to play for a national title.
It doesn't matter much that the video replays proved that the game officials were correct, and that the Longhorns deserved that final second to attempt a winning field goal. Saturday night, fans grew a little more leery about how college football determines who plays for the national championship. Add another splattered egg to the hull of the BCS.

Here's the saving grace -- at least the right team will play Alabama on Jan. 7 at Rose Bowl Stadium.

After watching Colt McCoy throw three interceptions and the Longhorns manage fewer than three yards per snap, the gut reaction is to say Texas doesn't belong. This UT couldn't beat Texas State, forget Texas Christian. Alabama? Bear Bryant's coming back to life in a Ferrari, with Darrell Royal riding shotgun, before the team in white at Cowboys Stadium rolls the Crimson Tide.

But over 13 games, Texas proved itself college football Division I-A's second-best team. Its offense spent the second half of the season proving its part, and an off night against a stacked Huskers defense shouldn't devalue those efforts. And the Longhorns' defense, which held Nebraska to 1.9 yards per play, continued to play among the nation's best.

"Twelve out of 13 games, we've played at a very high level," Texas defensive coordinator Will Muschamp said. "As high a level as I've been around."

Muschamp won a BCS National Championship game as LSU's coordinator in 2003, and he'll get a chance at another next month.

For Nebraska, though, this one will sting until the end of time.

By the end, Bo Pelini settled down after private huddles with athletic director Tom Osborne and Big 12 commish Dan Beebe. ("All the reports are the call was correct," said Beebe, who was on the field for the sequence and didn't immediately see a replay). They, and everyone, can find consolation in the call being correct.

And that after this strangest of nights, the deserving team will emerge Sunday as the nation's No. 2.
