no shlt, how lucky are we that offensive geniuses like cally and mangino get run out at their schools in the north? I mean should I go buy a lottery ticket or what?
thank god he is gone.
-
It really is time to stick out the olive branch and reinstitute the 'ol run game coordinator. I think he has a chip on his shoulder and it is what jesus would do and Bill is as close to Jesus as God allows on earth so i think it is fitting.
-
Honestly, we should fire the f^ck out of Del and Dana and get Mark in here. OMG do you think he would take the job!?
-
It really does feel like we all just got away with murder or something...
-
Can't believe their fans/admin fell for it. I mean, the guy was a monster. What he did at ku..... He was a perfect fit and a god damn predator. SO RELIEVED!

anybody that has been here for a while knows how much of a mangino fan i am. i have thought that he was behind the ksu and the ou success for years. long and windy response below and for that i apoligize.
it becomes public knowledge that he is leaving ksu when we're ranked #1 and about ready to play for a national championship. couple of years go by and then we kind of start to stink. he moves to ou and they win a national championship and then after he leaves...gradually start to not be as good. five losses this year for them. he then takes ku. ku, of all schools to a freaking orange bowl and they win the thing. amazing that he is gone. incredible day for kstate fans everywhere.
-
It's remarkable how ku got a total steal in the first place with Mangino and after having him in Lawrence for eight years nothing to show for it. They are literally right back to where they started in 2002.
-
What MM did at ku is FAR more impressive than what Snyd's did here, you simply cannot win at ku. I mean he took them from 64-0 beatdowns to the motha frack'n Orange bowl! OMG, ku!

Love the scrolling blurb on ESPN tonight about Mangino winning as many bowl games since 2005 as the program has in the previous 101 years. That covers 35 ku coaches by my count. He also had the best winning percentage of any ku coach since 1953. Back-to-back bowl games for the first time in ku history, with a .500 or better win percentage 3 years in a row...missing a 4th by only one win. Oh and he hates KSU more than any ku fan ever could, putting the bullseye on the Cats (4-4 at ku and 3-0 at OU vs. KSU). He was also 4-4 vs. Mizzou during the Tigers' best era since the 1960's.
But he's fat, so they fire him?

But he's fat, so they fire him?
Honestly, I think it's because of that and his ethnicity

Feels good to exhale, ya know? :poinsettia:

His ethnicity, coupled with the fact that he talks with his hands!

Unemployment went up by two today.
Mangino
Towel Boy
It's a sad day.

Unbelievable.
Best season in the history of the program; fired two seasons later.
The Big 12 North breathes a sigh of relief tonight. Thank you Lew Perkins.

The Ward family wasn't about to let their beautiful press box and suites overlook a team led by an ugly obese Eye-talian.

HEY, really good college coaches! (http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/22329399/)
Isn't this clearly where you want to come coach? (http://www2.kusports.com/news/2007/nov/28/mangino_nets_coachyear_award_bonus/?football)
They treat you so well here. (http://sportsbybrooks.com/kansas-coach-mark-mangino-named-home-depot-coach-of-the-year-14945)
Who wouldn't want to be supported like Mangino was? (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=du3t-ImIgc8&feature=related)
Clearly the University of Kansas is a great place to be a football coach. (http://www.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/stories/121907aay.html)

Question; has any coach ever gone from National Coach of the Year to fired as quickly as Mangino? Tuberville at Auburn was fired 4 years after his NCOY, but they are actually a football program with history and expectations and stuff. Mangino going from NCOY to fired in 2 seasons has to be a record. Has to be. Especially at a program that had never had back to back bowl games in its history.

That was to trick your program into firing him. Totally worked! Have you not read this thread :dunno:

I know Solich didn't win NCOY. Nubbs fired him for a 9 win season. But Solich didn't beat his wife, players, and officials. Ok your right uk is a bunch of retards firing the '07 COY.

Guy was 4-4 against us including issuing us the worst beating in the series since possibly 1991.
They fell into our tiger pit blindly.

23-41 at ku is like 37-9 at KSU. Winning in Lawrence is damn near impossible. No future coach will ever have that high of a Big 12 winning percentage at ku.
-
You know playing K-State was just so personal for Mangino . . . any new coach just isn't going to have the same zeal for the game.

I know I just let out a big sigh of relief. The only threat to our return to dominance is now gone. Amazing what Mangino was able to do with that garbage program. What's even better is the way that ku treated Mangino assures us that no more good coaches will even consider ku.
I mean really, he's been successful wherever he's gone. K-State, OU, ku. He took their garbage program to a 12 win season and an orange bowl win. WTF were they thinking when they decided it was a good idea to push out the best thing to ever to happen to their program!? I can't believe the incompetence.
This is a very good thing for emaw football indeed. One more guaranteed W every year. In-State recruits back to having only one viable local option for school. I'm thrilled, personally.
Great job making this happen K-Statriots. But really, we should give credit to Snyder, the real mastermind behind this. There's no doubt we couldn't have made this happen if he hadn't beaten the genius that is Mangino this year.
-
When we came up with the plan to make ku fans and admin think Mangino was terrible 8 or so years ago, I'll be honest, I didn't think they would fall for it. I also didn't think our fanbase had enough stick-to-it-iveness to keep it going but, by God, we did it. Three cheers to all the EMAWs that took part and made this day a reality. :kstatriot:

Honestly, they fire a guy basically because he isn't soft enough as a football coach. Interesting logic...
Their biggest problem pre-Mangino was everyone in the conference knew they were not tough, that you could basically push them around all over the field. Mangino arrives and they are suddenly a little less pussy - actually become a mediocre force in the conference...
Bill should totally get Mangino into the Vanier Complex just preparing us to demolish uk on the ground...
I've heard rumors of Jim Harbaugh, but see no way he is leaving Stanford for uk, especially when ND may come calling...

You guys are silly. I agree that it is difficult for any coach at a Kansas school to win a BCS bowl game.........ask Old Balls. Outside of that achievement for which I give Fat Man a good dose of credit, his other achievements are definitely within reach by the next coach assuming we hire any one of the names that are being floated around currently. By the way, Sweet Lew deserves much credit for getting us in the Orange Bowl in the first place.
Have fun the next two years! You are the onset of demensia away from enjoying more Ron Prince like seasons.

Really what did Lew do? Give away ticket at home games so the stands looked packed, did he buy off the Orange bowl comm. I know he had his mafia buddies in Miami squeeze the comm. by threating their families. :ohno: Your right he does deserves all the credit.

As far as we know Lew is not responsible for any wrongdoing in getting us to the Orange Bowl (although I don't put it past him). He did campaign actively before the Big Twelve Title game. Missouri was a better team that year and deserved to go to the Orange Bowl. Having said that, we went out and won the game, something K-state's glory years couldn't accomplish. I enjoyed every fracking minute of that game.
The humor of this thread is how K-state fans are responsible for brainwashing "retards" like me into calling for Mangino's head.

So Lew set the '07 cupcake schedy, won the big 12 (which you didn't do), and put your team in the Orange bowl. To bad he did none of that.
Yes I understand the thread, SD did get you "retards" to call for the '07 NCoY's head. The same coach you sang songs about, and made slogans like "History Awaits". :nahnah:

I didn't say that Lew did any of that stuff outside of helping to get the Orange Bowl to invite us.
Nice work Jedi SD. The force is strong with you.

Dear Steven David,
Next time please focus your mind altering meditations on Lew Perkin's himself. Convince him to quit his job at ku and come work full-time as the athletic director for Kansas State University.
Wouldn't it be nice to have an athletic director that cared about the success and actively promoted the athletic programs of your favorite institution. I think this would be a much more reasonable and effective use of your powers.
When can you start?

The campaign went so well. I remember thinking two years ago when all we had was "He's so fat" that this isn't going to work. But each reminder was a drip of sulfuric acid eating away at his fan base it was as porous as a bee comb.
Well done, fellow EMAWers, well done.
And may I be the first to state I live in absolute dread of the program-building architect big Lew will bring to Lawrence.

What phase is the: Bag on coaching choice purposely so as to expose the tru believers and then agree with them, fake admonish self for ever thinking the choice was bad and emphatically agree it was a great hire . . . maybe the best hire ever . . . end with another, "I just don't what I was thinking".

theres a lot of readers who might think this thread is typical ksufans' sarcasm but not this time. theres a lot of truth here, ku has no idea what they just did.

The remaining phases of mind control should not be difficult--most of the fan base believes Lawrence to be a cultural mecca, which, compared to Peru, Kansas, it is. So, if you can make a dump like Lawrence seem dreamy, the ku fan base will have no trouble pretending like their football coach hire will be monumental. Just tell them it is, and they will believe. Better yet, if you can get someone the ku fan base respects to say it, it will be believed until death, or until another ku authority tells them that the coach is abusive and should be run out of town on a rail.
