Title: Pullen

We have good players, we have good moments and we have great coaching, but then we also have bad moments where we lapse and it is two people out there playing hard and three people who do not know what is going on. They do not know where the ball is at, they do not know what play we are running. If you watch us play, you see us call a set and you see that there are people who do not know what they are doing and have no clue. If you watch Michigan State play North Carolina right now, that is not happening. You don't see somebody on their team call a play and four people look around like, 'what do I do?' They are all on the same page. I'm not saying that we are playing our best basketball right now. We are not supposed to be playing our best basketball right now, but there's no reason for us to not know what we are doing and to not play with energy.

it's pretty much spot on.  all the newcomers....every single one of them....are just lost out there.  And victor, even for being here last year, looks f'ing clueless.  Basically, Jake and denis know what's going on, Dom kinda does, so does Merriesuck.  Everyone else is just kind of jogging around.  Jake looked lost at times as a freshman, majority of that was on defense, but nothing, nothing like this.  Denis had this for a while last year, but again, nothing like this.

His quote makes me think they were wathcing the MSU/UNC game during halftime...not sure if they were just bored or if the coaching staff used the UNC game as motivation.

Saw this numerous times at Sprint.  JP or DC would call a play, and WJ RM etc would just look lke a deer in headlights.  JP or DC would be like "COME ON!" motioning the player to the correct position.  Pretty bad IMHO.

A friend of mine in one of his prior jobs had the opportunity to spend significant amounts of time with many D1 head and assistant coaches at social events.

He told me he struck up a long conversation with an assistant at an SEC school while they stood at the open bar knocking back a few.  The assistant told him that they had guys on their team that were so dumb, they had to run different plays depending on which end of the floor was their basket . . . they guys couldn't translate the same play from one end to the other.

I don't think Denis is the team captain type.  Jake clearly is the leader on this team, so it's his place to say things like this.  This morning I was reminded of something I had read earlier in the season.  Jake said that Frank and Co. weren't yelling at the players as much this year, that the staff was relying on the seniors/juniors to do that during practices.  I'm curious if that hasn't proven to be effective or if they are even continuing with that practice.

a) Where / in what context was this said? Pretty awesome in any case.

b)

They probably had it on in the locker room after the game. Tip was an hour later in Chapel Hill...
