I have an Okie State pass, but only go every once in a while.  Too afraid I'll be eaten by Robert Allen.  (God, how I wish someone here knew who he was, would make it much funnier)

i'm just saying...you could watch a game from the court or something. ask frank a question in the presser afterwards too. carry a handheld voice recorder w/ you. would be fun. surprised you haven't taken advantage yet.

also, do you think my work on the fire/keepronprinceblogspots would be enough for me to get credentials through the ad if i forward them a link?

It really isn't as difficult as you'd think to get press credentials, RD.

Just call them up and say you're with "Rick Daris Sportsline" or something, and you're in.

I knowrite.  When we heard we could get press passes I was all, "OMG, I'm going to every event and asking all kinds of crazy questions" but when we actually came to the point to get them I was all, "I'll just hang out with the bros before the game and katpak or whatever because that other stuff I thought about doing seems scary."  Kinda the story of my life actually.

Also, I doubt it with the blog or whatever.  They have a list of requirements or something you have to meet to get one and I don't think that meets them.  Maybe I'm wrong here :dunno:

thx. that kinda answers my original question. what kind of neat stuff would i get? snacks? seat on press row? would i have to provide my own ticket or would the pass get me in?

we always got in free to highschool away sporting events by telling people that we worked for our highschools yearbook and that our teacher called ahead of time and ok'd it. never paid for a 6A state basketball tourney game.  8-)

I just had to sign a release that any audio, video, or stills taken couldn't be used without permission from Oklahoma State University, etc etc.

I have a badge that I renew every year, and that's it.  Go sit in the press box or just walk around and feel super elite.

:dunno:  never got any.  Maybe start a hoops blog and get it all bigtimey or something and then KSU will give you some.  Was actually going to bring up the idea of a hoops blog with you and the super elite hoops PM circle fun time gang.

very condescending response to an honest question if i've ever seen one. my vote is for the non moderator board elite types to leave and start our own site. our site will be the new ksufans and this place can be the new kstatefans. we'll have so many press passes that we'll put cholula hot sauce on them and eat them for snacks. the first part of the plan would be to get the kstatefans posters to start posting over he...

not surprising though. stevedave is my sworn bbs enemy. we simply just do not like each other. it's as simple as that. once he saw that there could be possible alignment between you and i, he was out for blood. sorry.

Gaining press credentials to something you're not supposed to have credentials for is a lot like trying to jump to better seats in an arena/stadium:  You take your chances that the powers-that-be are being lazy about checking, and your odds improve dramatically at a non-elite event.

I've been to countless Saints and Hornets games as a legitimate member of the media, but LSU is all uppity about things because they have limited pressbox space and think my outfit is too "bloggy".  Getting credentialed to an LSU game is like getting an invite to an event at the White House ... you're better off crashing.  Which is ironical, given how dumpy that stadium is.  (It reminds me of Memorial, only bigger ... and full of fans that sort of care.)

The key to being elite at these events, stevedave, is to just act like you belong.  That's pretty much it.

Yeah, luckily the most elite of the Kansas State media are pretty much by BFFs.
